Heath running down Barkley

Uhhhhh....I believe I just told the entire board, Skippy.

The day Woodson retired Willaims was garbage. Fact.

No doubt that Roy deteriorated, but let's be real. In 9 years, Roy had 593 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 20 INT's and 41 passes defended. Heath (in 6 years) has 293 tackles, 0 sacks, 8 INT's and 17 passes defended. Roy was also a 5-time Pro Bowler and one time All Pro. That's not a realistic conversation at all.

Heath comparisons should be limited to Keith Davis, Andrew Sendejo, and Alan Ball. He's not even Ken Hamlin.

Different defense, philosophy.and coaches.......now what?

Still haven't read any evidence form you on how Heath is better than Roy. That was simply a poor opinion on your part.
Because it would be "evidence" like yours. Worthless stats.

From 10 years ago.

Let it go. You're wrong.

Still haven't shown me how your ridiculous statement is correct.

Stats > opinion. I'm right. Thanks for playing though.

Heath has his limitation and so did Bates, but I don’t remember Bates just falling off guys, while trying to tackle them, like Heath has been doing lately. Heath needs to wrap up and focus at the moment of contact.

That's what I thought.

Next time, simply say I like Jeff Heath better than Roy Williams. I mean, you'd still be wrong for it, but not necessarily factually incorrect.
Who are you, my mother?

You got a Roy Williams blow up doll? Jammies? Shrine?

Jesus.

I'll stick to my comment/belief. You don't like it......go pound sand.

Heath is far better in coverage, and has the ability to play both FS and SS, IMO CB in a pimch

he's a good example of why you get great athletes and coach them

Roy was a better tackler

When you step back and remove the glasses, Bates wasn't that great.....lol
He was a very good special teams player, but average safety.
Bingo! We have a winner and Heath’s not as good as Bates was.

Wow! Heath can’t cover anybody! What are you watching?

If you guys would ever listen, this is easily explained.

If you look really close at Barkley's eyes at the end you can see he can't believe he is going to get caught from behind my Heath. I think he figured he was flat out gone. I also don't believe there was an angle. Heath is that fast. Unfortunately besides that play, Barkley made him look like a grade school player.

Did anybody notice Jeff Heath run down Saquon Barkley from behind?

The announcer said Heath had an angle but it looked like a straight run-down in that last 5 to 10 yards.

Heath might not be great but he is by far a better Safety than Bill Bates on his best day, yet people loved Bates and hate Heath.
Just not true, Walks.

Heath has one great asset, speed. Tons of it. If the play can be made by running in a straight line, Heath is your man.

However, Heath almost completely lacks the ability to turn in order to make a play. That's why you see him often missing tackles when the guy is coming at him.

That's also why you see Heath cover well at times. If the receiver is running downfield, Heath can keep up w/ most. However, any sort of cut, and Heath loses a step in transition.

Bates was an average S who played hard but lacked speed. Heath is an average S who plays hard but lacks lateral agility.

Heath takes a lot of heat from people but he also comes up with good plays on occasion. His hustle to get Derek Carr in the Raiders game won the game for the Cowboys. Running down Barkley is almost as impressive as when Darrell Green ran down Tony Dorsett.

Roy was so good at the horse collar tackle they had to instill that as a rule. He was never the same player after that.

Herein lies a perfect example of why #38 irks me to no end....

90% of the time he's out of position and getting burnt. 10% of the time he's making plays like running down Barkley from behind to keep the legend going....

God this guy's gets on my nerves.
and yet, is it his fault for being who he is or the coaching staff that keeps him around. Instead of calling him trash, I'd like say that to the guys that are keeping him around.
