Heath running down Barkley

Did anybody notice Jeff Heath run down Saquon Barkley from behind?

The announcer said Heath had an angle but it looked like a straight run-down in that last 5 to 10 yards.

Heath might not be great but he is by far a better Safety than Bill Bates on his best day, yet people loved Bates and hate Heath.

I saw him get carried for another 10 yards. I also saw him get outrun, badly, by a TE. The guy is terrible. Worst starter on the team and bottom 5 in the league.

heath is a bum. Running a guy down from behind is not impressive for a safety. I see if it was a delineman or linebacker running him down. But not a safety. I would be more impressed if he took good angles and actually made tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage or at-least doesn't routinely miss tackles he should make.

Running down Saquan is impressive, Saquan thought it was a definite 6 but Heath said NO.

The dude has saved more than a few games. He ain't got quit in him.

He's better than Roy Williams ever was, IMO.

As crazy as that sounds it may actually be true surprisingly enough.

Heath takes a lot of heat from people but he also comes up with good plays on occasion. His hustle to get Derek Carr in the Raiders game won the game for the Cowboys. Running down Barkley is almost as impressive as when Darrell Green ran down Tony Dorsett.

Although CB's usually have more speed that safety's especially in Green's case.

Bates was awesome on special teams but very limited as a Safety.

Bates only started during the crap years of 86-88. He was only used in Dime packages by Johnson. The guy got a position created as an All-Pro for special teams. Btes knew he was a blue-collar jobber and so did the fans. Heath could have a similar role, but he keeps starting only because safety is not a valued position in Dallas since Woodson and drafting Rowy williams.

Heath DID NOT have an angle. If you look closely, Barkley was disgusted as he did not think he'd get caught. Heath is all hustle. Anyone remember him tracking down Carr last year to win the Raiders game? Love Heath!

When the DLine is blocked, and somehow the LBs are blocked, it's up to the safeties to make the tackle. Neither one did very good at that this past Sunday, and one of the two is a 2 year player.

Roy Williams was a bit like Dez in that he was really good at one time and then his performance fell off a cliff.

He was the hardest hitter I've seen and only needed about 1 step to uncoil with with extreme explosiveness.

He was decent in coverage originally but he got fat/lazy and Woodson retired.

With Wade Phillips replacing Parcells, there was zero team discipline and guys like Roy just got fat.

I watched them both and...no. Bates was a better special teamer but not a very good safety. Heath isn't great, but he is a decent safety who has a knack for making plays for us. The Heath bashing is uninformed garbage IMO.

I think the league rule changes and that injury he suffered had more to do with his decline than Woody leaving although anytime a player of Woodys caliber leaves there will be some decline in those he made better. I also think Heath has improved and is getting pretty good but there's no way in hell he's a better safety than RW.

That is the point. And Heath wouldnt have started under Jimmy either...for 2-4 years.

Ya, it was an impressive display of Heart ,,,but,,,what was less than impressive was that stiff arm ( chest punch)Barkley had laid on the #38 earlier that put Heath cleanly outta' effective consideration

Heath is a great tackler as long as he doesn't have to move sideways to do it.

Honestly, I can't see how you guys don't see this. He simply has tight hips, which means he can't "break down" to make a tackle. If Heath can tackle the guy right after he gets the ball, he's great at tackling. If the ball carrier has time to make a move, Heath often misses, because he can't adjust.

It's not that he needs to learn, as some are saying, it's that he lacks the physical ability to do so. You don't learn lateral agility.

Yes I did notice and I texted every giant fan I know I live in the middle of giant country I got no response imagine that Heath does have some speed his tackling ability leaves a lot to be desired though a few plays later or series later can't remember Barkley ran over him twice
