Help with quicktime

i need help installing quicktime everytime i try to install quicktime it tells me that i already have a newer version installed, but i look for that newer version and i cant find it. so i dont get why it tells me that if i dont even have quicktime installed in the first place. Anyone know what the problem could be?? btw i have windows xp
