I posted this on another tread but it was like the 34th post so I dont think anyone read it...Well here it is again, hope you guys like the idea

LISTEN GUYS:

I Think we should get a hold of Newmans stats( not just tackles and Ints but how much yards and TD's he gave up) and email it to every respectable columist. I bet after they see the stats they will freak out on how they did not rank him in the top 5 and why he hasnt been picked to the pro bowl. We should allso compare him to some other "elite" corners with worse stats than him...We should make the email statement together so we will not miss anything

Rojan his performance will speak louder than any e-mails we can send.

If he can back up the great year he had last season, the accolades will come.

BTW, Adamjt13 is the man for Newman stats

...actually any stats involving the boys!

You know that the more press Newman gets the more the Cowboys will have to pay him when his contract expires. If he continually gets ranked in the top five he will want the money associated with that.

I would rather we sign him cheaper so let them continue to underestimate him if you ask me.

He is one of my favorite players and I believe the players vote them in the Probowl, so he will get his due with his play.

Can you say "Deleted without reading."

Newman will get his due in time.

I doubt that -- many of these guys are lazy -- they'll just take information and run with it rather than actually researching issues themselves. this could work very well.

Valid Point

Fans also vote which skews the results based on team preference an popularity. and given the fact that there are a number of selections who make it in on name recognition/popularity, i.e. Michale vick, LA, etc., doesn't necessarily mean that the best players make the probowl.

I suspect the typical response would be "give me the exact same stat breakdown for all starting CB's and then talk to me." If you were to do that and provide respected sources for your data, it might make a difference. Although, i'm sure there will still be questons around quality of opponents receivers faced, i.e. did they spend more time covering #1 vs #2 wr's, did they play more man vs. zone, etc. And finally, you would not be able to permeate personal agendas. jmo

I don't care if they pay him a boatload of money, because he probably deserves it.

But it is better to fly under the radar, rather than have everyone trying to gameplan away from you.

i agree 100%. i'm all for him receiving the pro bowl accolades and the all-important respect from the media, but would rather it come after we sign him to a longer contract. i believe that the coaches know he's worth an elite DB's contract, but with as little hype as there seems to be surrounding the player, we may be able to get him a bit cheaper.

i feel the same way about alot of our players that posters on this board continually gripe about not receiving their dues. it does however bother me a bit when our offensive and defensive units collectively get **** on by the media.

O teams allready gameplan around him and QBs know all about him...Its just the media not giving him his dues.
