I read this comment about RBs all the time. The truth is that the same can said for any position . Great RBs are rare in the mid to late rounds, you get what you pay for unless you get lucky. There are some decent RBs in the later rounds , but I want a RB that can play three downs and is capable of taking advantage of this oline to run the ball down the defense.'a throat. Those type of backs are not common .

Its actually about half and half. If you look at the top 10 rushers the last few year, half are 4th rd and below.

I think we could risk waiting until the 3rd to get Joseph. He's talented enough to be a 1st round pick, but he has a lot of things working against him that usually causes someone to drop in the draft: he's very small, is coming off injury, and plays so aggressively that you could expect injuries throughout his career give his size. I think a stud DT will be available in the 2nd. We should take the best DT at 34 and the best SS in the 3rd.

Joseph, but there would probably be 5 defensive linemen there I'd rather get.

Would love to pick up an extra 2nd round pick. I think two gems of the draft will be available in the 2nd: Joseph and a stud DT.

I was taking Joseph before Henry at 34 already, but after today when I saw McShay had Henry at 56 on his big board that sealed the deal.

Sorry, the title I used really sucked.

If you already don't like Derrick Henry at 34 because of durability concerns and him likely being a 1 contract player, are you OK with taking Joseph at 34 over other positions that are 2+ contract roles like DE, DT, CB, WR, etc.

This team needs a good S just as bad (if not more) over those other positions outside RE maybe. But there are no blue chip speed rushers in this draft, so Goff and Joseph would be a great two first rounds (if no trades up w/TEN/SD; other teams for SD).
