Word was he was not doing good in practices. But then came the Cards game and he did good with what he had. Parcells even told him he did a good job when he got to the sidelines.

He is now doing better in practices. This morning he did the best of all the QBs in Red Zone drills. He found Witten 2 times for TD passes.

I just hope this is the beginning of Henson getting ready to really take off and really improve.

Edit -In Tuesday practice ---- Drew Henson moved his team to a quick first down with a 12 yard strike to Brett Pierce. After an incompletion and a sack for no gain, Henson ended the day, and earned a smile from his head coach by lofting a rainbow into the left corner of the end zone, where Reggie Harrell snagged it(Thanks LaTuna)

When one Henson thread grows into a monster and is shoved aside to another forum, another Henson thread rears its ugly head.

It can't be stopped.

I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

My bet would be Henson is third string this year, but starts the next season.

That way, everyone is happy!

Wolverine,

Did you see my post the other day asking questions of those who saw Henson in college? I take it your a big Michigan fan, duh... :) ,
but I'm interested to hear what he looked like in college compared to his style of play today with the Cowboys.

Only saw a little of him. Very little. But the thing is he has alota talent and I hope he is now beginning to put it together. I think Romo can be a GOOD QB but Henson has all the stuff to be a GREAT QB.

I watched several games at Michigan. In the past 10 years I felt he was one of the 3 best college QBs, in terms of potnetial in the NFL, that I have seen. Prototypical size, above average arm, head for the game, mobility, and pedigree.

I can't stand the Yankees so when he went there I hated it. When I heard he was going to come back to football I got excited. I found out he was doing a private workout for the Cowboys and I really go excited.

In short, I thought he did the wrong thing to ever leave football, but by doing so we got him for a steal of a price and that makes me happy.

If he flops I will be about as mad as I have ever been on a wrong call.

See Tom Brady, see Ryan Leaf.

The question is, does either one of them have "it". I like both of them and hope both of them are successful, but I have to honest. I see something in Romo when he is on the field. He's got something about him, in the way he carries himself. In his manorisms. A certain confidence that is detectable from 600 miles away. Let's face it, you don't have to be a super QB to be a great QB. Look no further than Brady. Montanta. Bradshaw. None of them were superior QB's.

at least they don't have the malicious nature of the Quincy threads yet...

Of course, I promise to take them there if Bledsoe sucks it up and Henson continues to practice well and not get a chance....like last year with intercepteverde and games and seasons already decided....

Thanks Hos. I followed college recruiting so of course I knew of Henson as the high school player of the year, etc. but I really never saw him play except for a few clips here and there. Frankly, I never thought we would get him, so I sort of didn't pay him much attention just so I wouldn't be disgusted when he went somewhere else. :) Shows how smart I am.
When he went to baseball, I was just glad somebody else like the Eagles or Skins wouldn't get him.
Now of course I wish I had paid attention.

I believe if we will be patient with him, (even through this year), that he will develop. Why any Cowboy fan wouldn't want that is beyond me.

Hey heres an idea lets stop talking about Henson:D

Not until the regular season starts. We all are just bored, even though I will admit I'm a little sick of it. :)

This reference to confidence versus talent reminded me of how I felt about Aikman and Walsh in the early 90's. Aikman always looked nervous to me and Walsh was so cockey, and walsh coming off that national championship run really did make him seem like the better option sometimes.

But the coaches knew the real story. We were fortunate to have a great coach then.
Thank goodness we've got Bill!

I have no idea why either CA. I swear the QB wars of the last 3 years have warped people's thinking. If we had a guy who was hyped at any other position people would be excited.

I truly think this is personal with some people. Most of the Hutch guys like Henson and I think the Q guys don't like the Hutch guys so Henson gets the crap from it.

I never liked either guy. I am a QB elitest and until this kid fails he's my dog in the fight for the future. I acknowledge Bledsoe is the starter unless something wild happens. He has pedigree too so I don't mind at all. I hope he can recapture past glory with Parcells, but I won't hold my breath. The last few years have not been impressive for him IMO.

I could care less about the predominance of Henson vs. Romo threads. The fact is, both are on the team and we as fans should be rooting for them, regardless of which one wins the battle for the #2 slot. Of course everyone's got a personal preference, it's in our nature. Opinions aside, the coach's see one hell of a lot more of them than we do. Regardless of who wins, there's a reason for it, so when it happens, deal with it.

Nors, I am so glad your not the gm or coach. Bledsoe is more talented than Henson? Based on what...arm strength (very slim) height, weight, speed? No. Intelligence...No. Athleticism...Henson wins..see the scramble from the Ravens game last year and tell me Bledsoe could do that.

So we are left with experience. Definitely Bledsoe who could argue.

Choose your words more carefully if you want people to take you serious.
