Here's what frustrates me.

For the longest time, we had the talent on this team, but we just didn't have the right mindset, will, desire, attitude or leadership.

Now, I think we've truly turned a corner and we have both the talent and the right desire, attitude, etc. That combination of things should make us a lethal championship contending team.

But two things are now holding us back: injuries and coaching. Call it an excuse if you want, but our defense has been shredded by injuries. It's hard to stop today's offenses with your top personnel, much less with guys who were working at Home Depot a week ago. And it seems like our coaching staff always manages to make some sort of game-ending time management or play calling gaffes.

We have the talent. We have the leadership and desire. Now we just need health and coaching smarts. One of those could change this season. I'm not sure about the other.

Are you sure that we really have the talent, or do we just think we do because our players get so much publicity because of who they play for? I think that we are a pretty average over-all team, that is extremely top-heavy.

Its not health, that is an excuse we use to give the guys on this team an out. One look at the Pats will tell you that you can win through injuries, teams do it every year. Let's not use the injury excuse right now, cause its just not true.

Its a weird team really, cause its hard to put your finger on it. Is it Jerry, JG, the player leaders, the coaches....what is it. We lost as a team yesterday, the D screwed up, the O screwed up, and we are coming apart at the seams.

The problem is when adversity hits, this team folds up like a cheap suit....and thats been the problem for a very long time.

None of us know for sure, since we're not in the locker room, but I'd really like to know who those "player leaders" are.

Well it has to be Romo, Witten, and Ware.....no others to really look at although we have some loud mouths like Hatch who spout off stuff.

Dez doesn't take losing lying down, and when adversity hits he comes back with a hard edge to improve it....those guys, not so much.

They fold, like a cheap suit, with some weak response like maybe next time.

As silly as it sounds, I truly just feel like this team is simply cursed. Jerry struck a deal with Satan himself in 1992 to get them those 3 Super Bowls.

Satan "You'll get your Super Bowls, but those will become a distant memory in due time"
Jerry "(Admiring the 1970's Super Bowl Trophies) What?"

Fans, Coaches, Game Analysts, Former Coaches, National Media and even NFL Players themselves have all pointed directly to the problem in Dallas for 18 years....some of you just continue to deny the obvious....just like the local Media.

There is only (1) one thing in common within the Dallas Cowboys over the last 18 years besides the suckage and mire into mediocrity.

We don't really have that much talent.

I disagree. Our offense definitely has more talent than most. Our defense, prior to injuries had quite a bit of talent as well. You don't just replace Spencer, Ware, Ratliff etc. with comparable guys no matter how deep your roster is. 5 of our 6 top DL going into TC are injured/gone (Spencer, Ware, Ratliff, Crawford, Bass). That's a ridiculous rash of injuries. Throw in injuries at safety and CB and the defense is pretty much decimated like last year's D. Our offense has lost a starting WR and RB. Now we can throw in our best OG too. Despite all these injuries, the team is a couple of plays away from having 6 or 7 wins. They are what they are and made costly mistakes to lose games. Coaching has contributed as well IMO. However, I don't think overall talent on this roster is the issue compared to most teams.

Eh, I don't buy that our DLine is that great. Is Ware even a top 10 pass rusher in this league anymore? Ratliff doesn't have a sack since 2011. Agreed the injuries have played a role, but I dont think its that major.

We grossly overrate our skill position players on offense, and we are weak at the OLine. We have a top 5 QB, WR, and our tackles are good. We have a blossoming center. Beyond that, who really stands out? Witten is a shell of what he used to be, everyone else has been inconsistent.

When this team shines, it really shines. But even the best players are so wildly inconsistent that its hard to think we really are as talented as many want to believe.

The talent here has been vastly exagerrated.

It's getting better though.

I still say we have good talent compared to most teams. Some are gone, but we started with: Spencer, Rat, Hatcher, Ware. That's a good front 4. Lee, Carter, Carr, Romo, Dez, Witten, T Smith, Frederick, Waters, Murray etc. - that's pretty good talent. T Williams could be added to that list as well. I'm not saying we're the most talented, or exceptionally talented, but to say that "we're not that talented" is wrong IMO. We just disagree and that's fine.

the injuries have been to the defense, very few on the very talented offense. Garrett and the coaching staff need to maximize the talent on offense, and not put the game in the hands of the depleted defense. I don't get Garrett, his job is on the line, but he won't play to win, especially on offense.

We have 3 rookies starting on key positions on offense and 2 undrafted rookies will probably start at safety. 80% of the defensive line rotation was picked off the street. Where is all this talent we are talking about? Romo and Dez? Lee?
