Doesn't matter what free agent is mentioned. It could be Murray, Hardy, Carter, Sheard, Suh, Goldson, or even Jed Collins. The majority around here want nobody. I keep seeing things like, "it's only day two," "he's too expensive", "he's not worth 4,6,12,or 20 million", "don't want to get in cap hell", "it's a different culture", etc,etc,etc...

So here's my question for those of you who think that it's a great thing that we are standing still, and even losing good players, while other teams are adding pieces. Who do you think we should wait for? Who do you think will still be around after the rest of the NFL runs thorough the available lists? Who do you want to target? What 3rd,4th,and 5th tiered guys do you think JJ is waiting on?

There ought to be a ton of you answer this question, because there are countless threads with you offering reasons why we should not be making our team better.

Quite frankly, regardless of the reason or the excuse, there have been far too many bargains going around for us not to have gotten better. Also, we have too much cap flexibility available to use "worth" as a deterrence not to have signed some "pieces"....

It wouldn't matter what anyone answers to your question. You'll spend the rest of the thread whining and disputing it.

This is a "make me feel better because I like to whine" post. If you want to feel better call up your mommy and see if she'll let you suckle up for old times sake, maybe. Otherwise, hop back into one of the other threads that you've spent whining in and call it a day. Or not, whatever.

Besides Sheard and that's questionable, tell me which bargain as you say you would have taken?

I'm thinking DE Morgan or Clayborn, CB Robinson or Culliver. There could also be players released to make room for newly acquired FAs.

Edit: Schofield

No matter what, I want Greg Hardy. We shouldn't be afraid to open up the check book for him. We need edge rushers BADLY.

As far as the RB situation goes, here's what I think we should do...
Option A: Attempt to resign Murray for no more than 6 or 7 million a year. If he wants more, let him walk.
Option B: Bring in Adrian Peterson. Whether it be from a trade or picking him up after (if) he's released. Obviously don't give up too much if you have to trade.
Option C: Draft Melvin Gordon or Todd Gurley in the first round (whoever is available/whoever is higher on their draft board)
Option D: Sign CJ Spiller to be the starter and have a rotation w/ him, Dunbar, & Randle.

With the draft, we gotta take defense (DBs, DL, and LBs) in all the high rounds (excluding the first round if we have to take a RB)

Then I'd tell Carr to take a pay cut and if he isn't willing, cut him.

Then of course you fill out the rest of the roster with low/mid-level talent like we did last year with guys like Terrell McClain, Jeremy Mincey, etc.

RB in the 1st round? Especially on a guy who just had a huge injury and other injury issues in college? No way!

No matter what? So for $15 million/year you would still want him? If he is that good he will get that much.

I prefer waiting to see who the team actually signs before whining about it.

Touche

For the record you had us going 6-10 last year, right?

I honestly don't remember. But 6-10 sounds right. But those 12 wins came from the most balanced offense in years with much credit to a coaching staff that insisted on running the ball even when it wasn't working. Our offense made our defense better. But there were still many glimpses of that awful 2013 defense. The Mincey signing was a good one. But you need stars around Minceys. The perfect team is a team that drafts stars and fills the other roster spots with Minceys. It worked for Seattle's defense. Drafted rookie stars like Sherman, Wagner, Thomas, Chancellor, and signed underrated vets to affordable deals like Bennett, Avril, McDaniel.

The team that wins free agency is usually no good the next year. Remember the Philly "dream team"? Relax, they sky is not falling.
