Sorry to say but the refs gave Gb that win. Dallas in my book won that.

And im not talking about all them early questionable flags. Im talking about 1 specific missed holding call by 2 GB OL right in front of a ref that allowed Rodgers to get credit for a pass that put them in FG range for the winning kick.

How did that fair for the giants last yr?

Dallas lost that game in the 1st quarter because the offense didnt show up.

Dallas wouoldve got lit up by atlanta anyway. Would've probably had a 50 burger dropped on them.

So the Carroll and Paea signings don't excite you? What is your problem?
So far they have done nothing. We have picked up these types of players before and they are JAGS. Never being anything but average. That is not getting better. The draft is the only place that the Cowboys will get better.

You are right, we haven't done anything to get better. I'm not sure we've done anything to get worse, either. We've gone all in on a rely on the draft philosophy - which is smart. If they are going to get better it's gonna have to be April 27-29.

The only thing Jones has going for him is we have a bunch of young players so it's not unrealistic to expect improvement from second- and third-year players.
Excellent point. We have one of the younger teams in the league and another year of experience alone should make us a better team this year.

if I remember correctly we were swept bythe giants last season its easy to talk in march and jerry is good at that he has to start the sale of his tickets when they start making a deep playoff run for real then I will start to believe other wise regardless of the regular season record they are still just mediocre team

What a load of crap.

Hill said yesterday on with JJT and Will that he doesn't understand why we sit back after a great year and get complacent. Totally agree. He said we've done this in 2008, 2010, 2015, etc etc. He then went on to say the SB champs don't get complacent. They go get better. He said we don't have the dough but we should be at least trying to improve. He then said we like to do it through the draft, but everyones goal is to improve through the draft!

It was good stuff and I couldn't agree more. He was actually kind of fired up!!
Actually they usually take risks to push them over the top in those situations.
Signing guys like Pac Man and Hardy aint complacency.

Your first mistake was listening to JJT. That hot take is revisionist history.

Sorry to burst your cynical bubble, but they are an upgrade.

They do need to hit big in the draft, however A'S depth is a problem.

How do you know they’re an upgrade?

They haven’t played a single down for the Cowboys.

The NFC East has lost Bennie Logan, Chris Baker and Jonathan Hankins. The Dallas Cowboys are in the NFC East. They were replaced by no one, some guy named Stacy and no one. Not sure what they're seeing but Zeke is drooling.

Everybody should also remember that part of the reason to get younger is that younger players can improve, instead of having older players who are declining.

Doesn't mean we'll be better, but it's a strategy this FO is embracing. I don't agree with the complete disdain of potential impact free agents, but the hope is the young guns will keep improving. If, if, if. All the prognoses of this year have lots of ifs.

With all that's been said in this thread, I'd like for us to be in on Butler next year. One splash signing, just one. He doesn't rely on a legion of boom, he is legit. He's all heart and has the skill to back it up, and can probably be had for 12-13m aav. We should be all over that.

We can't just cut FA out of our growth. We can't. When you're close, FA is viable.

I wonder how much Packer fans are freaking out about their offseason right now. James Starks, Sam Shields, JC Tretter, Michael Hyde, Julius Peppers, TJ Lang, Eddie Lacy, Datone Jones, and Jared Cook gone. Martellus Bennett, Lance Kendricks, Davon House, and Ricky-Jean Francois signed. That's a fairly significant net loss on paper.

Like it or not, this is how things go when you set your course for building through the draft. You have to trust the players you've developed and seen in practice, in this case, Collins, Green, Heath, Brown, Tapper, J Smith, and Frasier, can play. Then you trust you can back fill for those guys in the draft and keep the 53 solid. In our case, the only thing unusual about this offseason is that we lost two basically starting CBs and only filled one slot via VFA. On a team that already needed DL depth. That puts a bit of pressure on us in the draft, but it's a draft with options at DE and DB.

Put me down for that one as well. Although I would rather see us go Secondary in this draft and use FA to grab the pass rusher.

It was pretty evident that any improvement is stepping in the right direction relative to the kind of year we had last year."
"We sheded some obligations too, and that may be an asset and opportunity, whether it be (salary cap) room or room on the roster. I’m not trying to be cute, but I would say we certainly have created more options in my mind than we’ve lost."

LOL jerry speak , ramble on and say nothing, more options, last year we were good, sheded some players .
Deep run in playoffs? what does that mean? get past div round?
never fear jerry is here, and it is all good!!
Just copy all the Jerry speak from here on out which is the same version every year whether we're 4-12 or 12-4. His son has also learned it well.
Much like fake news, Jerry always has his spin on everything to keep the fans and ticket holders hoping this will be the year and that is a large part of his job. In his own mind his fleas are still participating in his circus and always will. He's not in the football winning business, he's in the entertainment winning business for the NFL.

Cowboys got better without doing anything. Dak is a yr wiser, Elliot is just a beast. Dallas found guys in Collins, Irving, Mayowa, Brown. Guys like Heath, Wilson, Beasley took steps and improved their game. Last yr posters like you knew it all and said the draft was garbage because they couldnt make a deal for the top QBs but went after a RB and you just DONT take a QB at 4. NO FA this team as a 6-10 team is what i think most of you said.

This team knows what its doing. This team is set up with young players who are core players. And are coming into a yr where they will have close to 70mil in cap room next yr. And will have young established starters in almost every spot. So that will allow them to go after that superstar to cement them every yr. Just let this team do its job and sit back and be a fan.

Well I bet they're not over there in Green Bay saying they are better. Plus I actually believe we were closer than Green Bay to getting to the SB. They actually had a pretty old team.

I love how everyone that is saying that we will be better acts as though it's a foregone conclusion that we will have a great draft.
