I don't share your outlook. I don't see any reason to believe that this defense will show significant improvement over last year's.

In fact, I think many have been singing this same tune about the defense for years (we'll be better because the young players will improve while some other players will finally be healthy) and so far it's remained offkey.

We'll be better when we add some difference makers to this defense because we've only got one.
I said could be a little better before adding the draft picks.

They would need to hit on a couple of draft picks to see a BIG improvement; although, Jaylon and Tapper should be lumped in with the 2017 draft picks from that perspective.

Wonder what the reaction would have been if Jerry had said the truth. The truth being no one knows right now because we have zero clue who we are going to draft or sign or trade for down the road prior to the season starting.

Jerry is psychic, he already knows, so is optimistic.

Jerry Jones is just blowing smoke. We have not done anything to get better. The team just has to hope that we can pick up some rookies to help us out, but keep in mind EVERYONE gets to draft players to make their team better to. We just have to hope our rookies get better since we had a strong rookie class last year and our 2nd round pick comes back strong.

We are really just hoping for the draft at this point to improve the team.

Jerry is just counting on the improvement of Dak and Zeke to say we are a better team. That only goes so far.

The FA's the Cowboys signed at RT, DL and CB are upgrades. Smith and Tapper will provide big impacts as well. That's 5 players right there.

I wouldn't say any of the guys we signed in free agency are upgrades. Maybe trying to stay above water after other, more expensive guys, left. Is Bell an upgrade over Free, probably not. Is Moore an upgrade over Jack, marginal. Is Carroll an upgrade over everyone we lost in the secondary, no. Is Cooper an upgrade over Leary.....ummm no.

I think of us an wearing a life jacket in the ocean, trying to stay afloat and hoping someone comes and saves us.....in our cause rookies and that includes Smith, Tapper, and the rest of our young guys.

if the cowboys have injuries and the draft picks take some time to come along and tapper and smith or slow to develop its going to be a long season

I'm going to disagree with every example you cited. Free was terrible, Jack was nothing special (easily replaced) and Carroll as a zone CB is better than Mo or Carr. BTW Collins replaces Leary.

Only thing I will say, is yes I hated Free also, problem is you can always get worse. Just cause its a replacement doesn't mean its better.

Can Chaz walk across the street without getting injuried? I also didn't like Jack at all, but he played half our snaps, can Moore do that and stay out of trouble? Can Collins be as consistent as Leary? Will Paea be able to step up from disappointing lately to replace TMcclain just cause Rod is here?

Too many questions, not enough answers yet. Yes, they were all cheaper and I really don't disagree with the moves too much, but at the end of the day sometimes you get what you pay for.

More like Romo gets hurt

Question is if Dak will prove to be more durable. I think he will.

Knock on wood for no injuries. I do have a feeling Garrett gets fired without a title game appearance. Just a " feeling" though.
