This is why i said put Lee at the Mike. Hitchens isnt a good LB at all.
Ah, gotcha - my bad.Texas_Pete, I think Zordon may be referring to Dallas not taking Jack in Round 2 over Jaylon Smith. The Elliott pick is independent of that I think...
It was more Wilson then Hitch....Hitchens looked completely lost out there.
The punishment Elliot is gonna take....He has Earl Campbell written all over him. Done in 3 years. While Jack will probably just be getting warmed up.
If Elliot thinks he's gonna Cam Chancellor everyone...boy is he mistaken.![]()
Jack is not starting over Puz at Mike so your statement does not correlate with Hitchins situation.
LB Myles Jack (JAX) - Jack was one of the most accomplished linebackers coming into the 2016 draft and may have been a top five selection if not for a degenerative knee condition that may eventually require micro fracture surgery. Although he projects as an elite fantasy linebacker, we're not likely to see his true potential until 2017 as Jacksonville already has two established, every down linebackers in Paul Posluszny and Telvin Smith. He'll begin 2016 as a base-only strong side linebacker which severely kills his 2016 value.
okHitch was never good...people just latched on to a handful of good games he had to try and rub it in to the naysayers of the pick. He never was, or will be a starting quality NFL LB.
Not what zordo was talking about...go back and read it.Jack would start over Hitchens at MIKE. We're talking about the Dallas Cowboys, not Jacksonville Jaguars. JAX does not have a dearth at LB positions.
Yup...that one is gonna bite us for years. IMO Jack was the most talented player in the draft...And we pasted twice![]()
Remember when he was a good pick?
Good times.
Is he not a good backup player?
This writer is clueless. I just rewatched with a focus on MLB. Hitchens was fine.Anthony Hitchens is not the starting linebacker you are looking for.
At the start of training camp, Anthony Hitchens was embroiled in a battle with Justin Durant for the starting “Mike” linebacker spot. His performance against the Seahawks should be the death knell to his dreams of starting against the New York Giants Week 1.
Hitchens was terrible playing off blocks, as he routinely got bullied at the point of attack. Furthermore, he ran into holes with his head down, which led to him being out of position and missing way too many tackles. On top of that, Hitchens was terrible in coverage as he got beat on several occasions.
At the “Mike” linebacker position, the Cowboys need a player who can play through blocks and be competent in coverage. While Durant isn’t the best at taking on blocks, he is good in coverage, which is a huge improvement over Hitchens and the main reason why he should be the starter Week 1.

He is still hoping to be right about his draft critique. Is he not a good backup player?
He played MLB in the Seattle game.Hitchens was lost playing the Will, he was not to bad as Sam.
This.It was more Wilson then Hitch....
They would have been screwed without him in 2014.Hitch was never good...people just latched on to a handful of good games he had to try and rub it in to the naysayers of the pick. He never was, or will be a starting quality NFL LB.
This writer is clueless. I just rewatched with a focus on MLB. Hitchens was fine.
If 2 LBs fill the same gap and the RB pops out the other gap, the 2nd LB is wrong. The 2nd LB was Wilson not Hitchens in those situations in the Seattle game.
I don't know if people just never rewind or just don't understand what they're seeing.
FYI - Hitchens is #59.

Yes, but I still like him. His coverage was better than I expected, but his run fits were off. It is unfortunate that he missed the beginning of the preseason. Also, he played WLB in this game but I think he played MLB in Dolphins game.Thanks.... Wilson was out of position on a lot of them big runs!
