I admit it...I was more focused on the offense and on Ware...

Bradie James had 12 frikkin tackles....3 times as many as any other Cowboy. You know this guy flies under the radar a lot but he is a stout player and a team leader. Props to Mr. James!

Bill Parcells almost ruined this guy. It was the Tuna Fish who wanted James to bulk up and play at about 270 pounds. Bradie was consequently humiliated in pass coverage and called out on it publicly--even by opposing quarterbacks. That doesn't happen much any more!

Parcells pushed James athletic quality down. Now he plays at a much higher level under a natural weight and under Phillips top-notch scheme.

James played a great game...made a few key tackles on 3rd down.

But to say Parcells almost ruined James is laughable. If it wasnt for Parcells I highly doubt Bradie James would be the player he is today. Yes he wanted him bigger, and yes that hurt his coverage ability. I hated seeing Bradie run down the seam with TE's as much as anyone.

But I fully believe every player on this roster that played for Parcells is a better player in the long run because of it.

He's still not that athletic but you can't ask much more from a two-down linebacker.

Bradie's lack of coverage skills had less to do with his weight and more to do with his read/recognition ability. That's come leaps and bounds lately. I don't know if he's just more comfortable under Wade knowing he's bringing Ware/Spence on constant blitzes or what, but he's been a different player the last few years, especially this one. He doesn't bite nearly as much. Seems to have really taken a lot from having Zach Thomas and Brooking next to him. The latter especially.

He's always gotten his tackle numbers up, but it used to be that he was chasing guys down 10 yards downfield to make a lot of them. He's gotten a lot better around the line of scrimmage, and as a result we have one of the best defenses we've had in a long time. This unit has been killer all year thanks partly to his leadership.

I still don't want him one-on-one though.

Maybe Billl helped toughen a few guys up. Maybe not. Bill sure liked getting credit for everything and being the center of attention. But he was the one who said it,

"It is what it is."
Thus he merits the title: mediocre.
Mediocre results and a "leader" who punctuated his resume with desertion.

That's what he is in the final analysis. A charismatic, dynamic deserter of three teams.

It happens. I didn't notice either. But those are stout numbers. Thank You, Brady James.

His name is spelled correctly about 10 times in this thread and you still managed to misspell it.

Middle linebackers are supposed to get all the tackles.

Did Carpenter have any more than 1 yesterday?

Not sure, but he had good pressure when he blitzed (that 1 time).

I'm not shocked by the 12 tackles. I think Brady has played very well for the Cowboys over the last 2 to 3 years. I'm glad he is a member of this team.

It is really as simple as that, to the temporarily defunct get rid of Bradie club, lol.

Hey we would all like a roster of Pro Bowl players but it is not going to happen, Brady does a good job for us and like even the high priced players there are times he will make a mistake but when you look at the overall picture of Brady James he does a pretty good job for this team

I, unlike some, didn't care when Burnett signed with the Chargers. Not that I thought James was better. Just thought that at least he is not always hurt and sitting on the sidelines. Just did some research:

2009 stats:
Burnett-Comb tackles-61---Tackles-44---Asst-17---Sacks-2.5
James-Comb tackles-108---Tackles-76---Asst-32---Sacks-1.0

For the fun of it:
Brooking-Comb tackles-106---Tackles-75---Asst-31---Sacks-3.0

So James has held up to the numbers of Burnett.

Besides that, James likes being a Cowboy where as Burnett stated before he was drafted that he hates the Cowboys.

In Wade's system its actually the WILB spot that is suppose to lead the team in tackles. Brookings position.
