Home field advantage

One of the problems with the Cowboys of late has seemingly been a lack of home field advantage. At other stadiums, the fans are going nuts in the 4th quarter of tight games. At the new Cowboy Stadium, fans are sitting on their hands staring up at Jerrytron. That and the distance from the field and it doesn't even feel like you're really in the game. Jerry's not going to take it down but I wish he would.

I do believe you will be seeing more of these stadiums in the future. It certainly takes away the feel of the game. It's not the same. It's a bit of a shame what money has done to this game.

Me, put me out 20 feet from the field with wind and rains and mud all over the field to the extent you can't read the names and numbers on the jerseys - now that's football.

I always tell people visiting, if you're coming here expecting to get a gameday experience like you'll get in Seattle, Buffalo, KC, etc... you're in for a huge disappointment. The stadium looks good, but as far as the fanbase and the experience, it's amongst the worst of the 21 NFL stadiums I've been to thus far.

That big board was not at Texas Stadium and the crowds had the same reputation. How you play matters more than were you play.

I think the new Stadium is to loud! I can't even hear my phone! Even if it vibrates.

At least at Texas Stadium we never had cell phones. And it was loud! That was when football was really played like a Dallas Cowboy.

Yes, that's true but I think with the new stadium it's much worse. And that's not just my observation.

It's loud for the first five minutes, and when our offense is on the field on 3rd and ________.

Haven't been to the new stadium, but Texas Stadium was rarely loud, at least compared to other stadiums I've been too.

This.

I have been attending games since the Cotton Bowl and the crowd has always been the same. The only game I remember that was louder than most was a playoff game against the Rams back in the 80s. Dallas fans have always been known as the brie and white wine crowd and that has not changed.

I thought the place rocked pretty good in that Saints game last year.

That looks like FedEx Field on a good day.

Was there for the Browns game last year, and it was pretty loud. However, the fans there were not football smart. Not yelling when it was 3rd and long when the Browns had the ball. Stuff like that.

Because the team has not played well. I wish our crowds were like the 12 man in Seattle but they are not and have never been. The crowds will get loud but only when this team is playing great football.

The bigger problem is the huge contingent of opposing fans at games. A lot of season ticket holders sell their seats, and they're largely bought by opposing fans. Games are about 70/30, and often far worse.

Pittsburgh took about 50 percent of them. Green Bay will do the same this year.

The only explanation I can give is that there's no underdog mentality EVER with the Dallas Cowboys. The crowd expects the best, so what's there to get excited about ever? If the Cowboys don't play their best then you're obviously going to be underwhelmed, and then of course if they play well it's just par for the course.

It's certainly not the people in the area. Mavericks and Rangers games are plenty loud. But the difference between those teams is not the fans, it's the atmosphere and expectations.

That is not true at all IMO. I went to 2 games in KC and one in Dallas last year, and the experience at Cowboys stadium was head and shoulders above that in KC. My Chiefs fan friend that went with me to Dallas was blown away and even commented that the Cowboys might be his 2nd favorite team because of the experience.
