This was a horrible debut for D Coordinator Stewart.

Because this guy, Believe me, will need all the help he can get.
If Wade is any kind of a coach, he will become more involved in the defense and let Stewart work on, um, preventing arm tackles.

As for the acronym GROS, it just does not have the pizzazz like GROZ.:)

But keep GROS handy. Just in case.

Our D will be fine. Plax got 3 TD's over Reeves, that doesn't happen with TNew in the lineup and he will be back.

The defense can only get better.

Players were in position at times to make plays and they didn't make them. BUT a lot of times we were not in position and guys were wide open.

Wade Phillips will get things corrected but its going to be tough with Ferguson out because Offenses are going to be able to get us off balance if we dont plug the middle.

I don't understand, if we are going to play a soft zone in the red zone, why not have the cb up tight. A lot of the problems was the WR getting to much seperation and we did nothing to disrupt the timing of the passing game. All of which is very correctable.. I think we will be fine!

Yes, I hope it can correct itself
But Roy playing man to man in the end zone ... that's scary.
And yes, too much separation. Man to man, but not with Roy! Ever.

Let's see, Zimrod had been a DC for 6 years while this was Stewart's first regular season game as an NFL DC. Yep, fair comparison.

Dear Genius:

It said "debut"

Waddaya want, praise for Stewart?
If you want you still have time to become the first Stewart apologist and apologist for Stewart's safeties coach.

You can untwist them now.;)

funning thing is Stewart never crossed my mind all day until i read this thread just now... im usually one to take a shot at the coaches but it was pretty clear tonight that the players just flat out didnt perform. we were undermanned and it showed all game long.

When was Roy ever playing man-to-man in the end zone?

Red zone situation, late in the game -- perhaps the last TD the GiANTs scored -- Roy was in the end zone, went up high but a Giant WR was deep in the end zone and hauled it in.

Face it, whenever Williams is anywhere near the play, it's his fault. On two of Burress' TDs, Williams was the second cover guy but both times, Madden pretty much blamed him.

I have no idea what ratio we played man vs. zone, but I know I saw a lot of zone. A lot.
