He made a big deal about the contract because it should have been a foregone conclusion and the team handled it poorly to include dangling the franchise tag nobody outside of Kirk cousins would be happy about.

everyone places expectation on players. Dez got a big deal as a fan I expect him to live up to it. People here want to say how great he is? Irvin met the challenge when Jones made him the highest paid WR it is time for Dez to step up and get to the next level. I love how he gets off the hook for anything yet other players on this team are constantly ripped on.

Sorry, I should rephrase. Your expectations mean zero. None of ours do. Who are the players that get ripped on more than Dez?

Him and Tony are the resident whipping boys currently. It's a shame that he's had so many issues and lack of production since being paid (and hurt, and hurt again ). I just have faith in the guy and believe he's the same player he was when he led the league in TDs and terrorized the league. He's got a pretty significant injury (sustained fighting for yardage and giving it his all) and STILL stayed in the entire game and scored the go ahead TD 3 quarters later. He'll be back and with the caution being taken, in good shape and ready to get back to work.

I am huge fan of him but this is not a must win for us. Don't get me wrong I would love to win this game, but it's not worth him risking anything. Especially because we have a bye week next week and the Philadelphia eagles game is more important to us than the Packers. He can get his revenge in the playoffs. Plus Dak doesn't favor him like Romo does. What does everyone else think?

it isn't a must win in the traditional sense, but how often have we said, oh this loss was meaningless only to have it mean something later, I would prefer to have the head to head tiebreaker on them for a WC down the road

We haven't heard if he is medically cleared to play.. All we have heard is sources say this and that.

The doctors wouldn't clear him to return to practice if there was risk of reinjury.

Several guys are ripped on and sorry but your wrong fan expectation who are at the ball games, when they are not happy with the play of any player it come across loud even to the likes of Troy Aikman. Don Meredith quit the game because it was not enjoyable because of the wrath of the fans. Players are not accountable to fans but fans expectation show up with approval of player even in terms of making the pro bowl. Dez just has not do anything since getting his contract. Yes he has a hairline fracture and players have played with the same type of injury. I'm not anti Dez but do expect him to live up to the contract the Cowboys gave him

Dez has never been the highest paid WR......CJohnson was higher and now Dez is already 5th highest and his base salary is going down to 12.5m for 2018-19

and I expect him to produce as such and fact is since the deal he has not. I understand some of it out of his control but even in games he has played thus far and last season when he was in the games he is not producing to the level he is being paid and or expected to play at. Yes expectation on high paid players will be greater than what is expected out of a player like Beasley.

If it's simply pain tolerance, and purely pain tolerance, he absolutely needs to play. This is our redemption game for getting 2014 stolen from us. And especially stolen from Dez.

I adore Dez, but if there's no risk to further injury, he needs to buckle up and get in there and help our rook out. Play through the pain. He says he can cut fine with no pain but his forward (straight line) sprinting are what hurts.
