Dez absolutely must play! This is a conference game and important to have this tie breaker in case of a tied record so we may be able to avoid going to Lambeau in the playoffs. We need to make this game a statement game to flip the recent history against the pack.

Honestly all the sports I played at numerous levels I remember every key loss to this day but I generally am a very competitive person. With The hyper competitiveness of pro athletes , I refuse to believe that 2014 loss is still not on the minds of those who played in it and if it isn't that's a problem. If I was Dez or Witten I would be sure to let every rookie or new player know about that game. If I was Garrett I would be posting the newspaper from that day all over the locker room, I would remind them everyday !

BUT THATS ME !

I may have issues LOL

I am huge fan of him but this is not a must win for us. Don't get me wrong I would love to win this game, but it's not worth him risking anything.

He's risking a lot by not playing because the more his production drops the more he'll start looking like a has been. He needs to have a big game against a solid team. If injuries continue to keep him off the field and his production continues to drop, the Cowboys might start looking to draft another WR high in the draft.

I think the OP simply doesnt want Dez to hurt himself any further. Im fairly certain 99% of us would like Dez playing if there was no risk of further damage and its a pain tolerance only issue. If there is a chance he could worsen it than Id have to agree with sitting through the bye. We tried that bring guys back too soon crap last year and it wasnt effective.

I think some people just don't like to face reality. Again, I hope he plays, and I hope he is healthy and will leave it at that.

Don't hate me because im right 99.9% of the time.
Don't worry, no one hates you for being right, that's not a problem.

Anyone hoping Dez doesn't play likely will get their wish, given Garrett's presser today.

Just curious, maybe I didn't hear the whole press conference but I didn't hear him say anything about Dez not playing? I heard him say that the bye week won't factor into the decision and dez is coming along well.

From his interview with the media yesterday, it sounded like Dez wasn't really wanting/able to play against GB.

He kept saying how things are progressing, but then would preface it by mentioning that they're 4-1 right now means he doesn't have to "rush" anything.

I would really like to know the validity of Skip Bayless' comments where he said it's a pain tolerance issue, and that Dez chose to sit out the last couple weeks.

If those statements are true, that's pretty disappointing.
I'm kind of torn on this. I was pretty ticked at Dez when he didn't show up for treatments right after he hurt his knee because he feared the worst. Now that episode has passed I no longer am mad about that because I can see how anxiety can cause you to make a bad decision. But what I really am upset about is Dez going back into the game after he was fearing the worst. I don't want Dez to put his long term health in jeopardy by any means. So I agree that a statement like that doesn't sound the best and is a little disappointing. I would much rather have him saying these statements then any form of lying to the trainers or team and say that he's okay when he's not. I don't want him touching the field unless he's okay too and won't hurt himself more. I don't want him to downplay his injury to the trainers and staff so he can play just to go out and cause more problems either by exacerbating the original injury or hurting himself by overcompensating for the pain and pulling a muscle somewhere. We need Dez for the final push or there won't be a final push.

I believe with Dez's passion and love for the game that if he could play, he will, so that knee must be very painful for him.

Doubt he plays. Not with the bye week upcoming. Theyll give him two more weeks.

If Dez plays at all, his participation is likely to be extremely limited and intended primarily to let him get going and test his leg. Butler and Williams will be required to step up for this one to make up for the limited use of Dez, assuming he plays at all. At the same time, Beasley will keep them busy in trying to contain him. Good luck with that -- it's easier said than done. Their LBs will be challenged in many more ways than one . . . ;)

Does anyone believe Dez will ever again sniff 16 TD catches in a season? Does anyone think he'll surpass his career high 93 catches from 2013 or his career high 1320 yards from 2014? I don't think so and the reason is Dak is the future and he's already proven he doesn't need Dez to be a productive, efficient QB. He's been without Dez the last 2 weeks and continues to improve each week.

Beasley has become more valuable to our offense than Dez because he's a reliable chain mover. He made a huge play with the game on the line vs SF a couple of weeks ago. Losing him would take a huge bite out of our offense. He's leading the team in catches and yards. At 27 Dez's best days already appear to have come and gone.
