I wonder if he just wasn't built for the physical demands of basketball. Seems too major for a slight jump up and then land. Nothing fancy. I wonder if he'll ever come back with a bum knee like that.

I believe that's typically refered to as the "Triple Crown" of knee injuries (ACL, MCL, PCL) with a torn meniscus. It is serious, but I've seen people come back from it before. I believe it happened to one of the Patriots' players a few years back. I think it was Harrison though I could be wrong.

It was Robert Edwards and the worst part of his injury was he had nerve damage.

No way it's worse than Theisman. Theisman's leg snapped like a twix in two places, Livingston just dislocated his knee cap.

I don't know if the injury is worse than Theismann... I guess time will tell. What I meant was that the video was worse than Theismann's.

Joey T is in a big pile up and while you see the leg, with the pants on and all the bodies jumbled up, it's always hard to see what exactly happened. But Livinston is out in the open court with no one around him, bare legged, and it just looks grotesque.

It also happened to Harrison if this tidbit from his Wikipedia page is correct:

In a game on September 25, 2005 vs. the Steelers, Harrison was hit in the knee by a falling Pittsburgh receiver and tore the ACL, MCL, and PCL in his left knee. Harrison was subsequently placed on the injured reserve list, ending his season.

I didn't realize his knee injury was that bad.

Every time I see him or hear people talk about him, I think of how he shafted Duke by jumping straight to the NBA.

All bitterness aside, I do hope he recovers from that.

that was nasty, i saw that again about an hour ago and man it was bad - it just snapped like a twig in two different places - it looked like a simple lay up as well so something that simple could have potentially ended his career.
