Horse Collar on Romo

Three things:

1. I have no idea what Simms was talking about. That was a horse collar. The blocking was pitifully bad though on the blitz and no WRs seemed to be open.

2. The Romo INT, Romo had pressure up the middle. I don't know if he was phased by the last play, but with the pressure up the middle he couldn't step into his throw. Problem is, Leary actually came right before Romo threw it, and took out the defender. I don't know if he could have seen Leary coming or even adjust in time.

3. Despite this point, from what I saw is, it was still a throw into double coverage.

I can't fault him that much on the last play. I just don't think they needed to take a risk like that. They resorted to their typical offense, when the whole game they were mixing it up very well.

It looked like a horse collar to me too, but the rule is confusing to me so I'm not sure. I just hate the timing of Romo's interception. Every QB makes mistakes, but then?...

how is it a horse collar when the defender hand his left hand on the front of Romo's jersey?

that wasn't the hand that dragged him down though, he was pulled down from the hand behind Romos jersey

Because his right hand was in the back-side of his jersey from where he pulled him down...

Step into what throw? The guy was bracketed by 3 players, whether he could or couldn't step into it, it was a dumb decision.

I hate blaming the refs for losses but some of those missed calls makes me wonder how they have a job in the first place

It may just be me and my bias opinion, but do the refs have it out for the Cowboys or what? I'm dead serious because even at our "home games" we seem to be getting shafted with these calls time and time again.

I'm pretty sure that is a horse collar, especially since the horse collar tackle has been more widely defined. He was out of the pocket and drug down by his sholder pads.

The worst call of the game however was the non PIF call when Witten was pushed in the end zone.

See point three... Pressure up the middle also obscured his vision.. But like I said, he still threw into minimum double-coverage, but his line folded the last play as well.

The officiating was awful. The Broncos even got some bad calls. To me, a horse collar is a horse collar, in the pocket or not.

But they scored on the very next play. That was irrelevant. The horse collar forced them into a long situation... That was worse IMO.

I didn't have a good feeling about that final offensive drive after seeing Romo get sack on that first play. I really like Tony but man he looked like he wanted no parts of that last drive. I gotta have a QB who wants the ball in that situation and he looked like he didn't want it. I hate saying that but that's what it looks like to me.

Yeah that was huge and will get lost in the shuffle. Did they end up scoring on that drive.

i dont remember but it would have forced a punt and Dallas could have gotten a FG or something. But no, Payton was granted a stay of execution to which he fired his defense attorney and did it himself.

Just looked it up. It was in the 4th quarter and they got a FG out of it.
