Reports that he has a neck injury. Has feeling in his extremities and is being transported to the hospital for testing.

Neither did the hit on Irvin. Just never know.

The way Irvin's head was driven into that concrete covered by carpet, it looked bad to me. Of course this is non replay.

I re-watched the Miami game last nite and Roy better start getting his head up. He's going to hurt himself.

that is what i was saying when i saw the hit. Thought it did not look bad but then remembered Irvin.

a friend of mine works at the hospital where Killings was taken and called me when he arrived asking if i had seen what happened. She can't tell me any more than that though.

I just hope he's alright.

if this happens too often it could be the downfall of the NFL

No the NFL will finally get its butt in gear and come up with a helmet that really protects the player but can't be used as a weapon against another player. At the same time they might get around to forcing quality surfaces on the stadium floors instead of artificial green grass over cement/concrete in some stadiums.

It's realistic that there may be cures for spinal cord injuries in the near future, with new developments in several different areas of research all the time. At least for new injuries like the treatment that was given to Kevin Everett, but also hopefully for long term injuries. But like anything it's hampered by money and political issues. I'm sure they probably already do but the NFL really should try to do whatever it can to help.
