Danny Watkins a possible cut for Philadelphia Eagles?

When the Eagles burned their first-round pick on Danny Watkins two Aprils ago, he was projected to slide in at right guard and stick there deep into the future.

After making 12 uneven starts as a rookie in 2011, Watkins was eventually benched last season and now looms as a potential cut, according to Vaughn Johnson of Philly.com.

I didn't like him coming out of that draft and I would have no interest in him now.

The guy is to old to be a project, he was 26 in the draft. Now he is 28 or 29. No thanks.

Cowboys did like him coming out in that draft. No reason to cut Arkin to pick the guy up though. Ray Dominguez is the low man on the OG totem pole.

If you're an OL, and Risen doesn't want you, that doesn't speak well at all. I would agree. 28, first round pick just two years ago, and talk of being released already? Not somebody I'd be crazy about signing.

It is highly doubtful that they would cut him before training camp. With a 90 man roster, there is no reason to cut him now.

If my house was on fire he might be the best NFL player for the job.

I don't know about that. Our roster is littered with offensive linemen I don't want.

And please, don't be so formal. Call me Ris.

With Leary, Arkin, and Kowlaski, Dallas has enough projects on the Oline. My question is Watkins actually a project, or is he a starting caliber G, who just needs to be coached up?

1st round picks are typically not projects.

What Parnell gets no love in this regard?
