Really? I guess good coaches are growing on trees. Dallas would have been lucky to have a retread like Reid . I guess you don't want a proven coach. Jerry can look to the college ranks I guess.?About one out of fifty of those works out.

Retreads haven't worked well for us. And Reid was still in the game. Cowher has been out of the game for some time. Even the great Joe Gibbs was lost when he was out of football then returned to regain the job at Washington.

And being away from the game for an extended period of time doesn't bode well for coaches seeking a return. Only Dick Vermeil - to my knowledge - pulled it off successfully. And he had to totally change his approach to the game.

Along those lines, and it sounds like a joke but it's really not, if Gruden can win under Al Davis, he should be able to work with Jerry. He's been the only coach who has been able to do anything during Al's crazy period. That's actually a huge positive on his ledger when it comes to this job.

There's been several threads on Saban apparently some are oblivious as to what happened with him and the Dolphins. The Cowboys need stability at HC not some lying idiot who'll want out after 2 years because they can't handle the heat of being an NFL head coach.
