How about Romo and those gloves?

Since when does he start wearing gloves? This was the first this year I've seen him wear gloves in a game. I remember hearing BP talk about it last year saying QBs shouldn't just decide to wear gloves one game when they don't normally do so after Romo wore them last year. I thought we were over this rookie-like mistake. He definitely put up some ducks and floaters today too.

Rookie like mistake??? what are you talking about? You dont see him wearing them cause we really havent been in to many games where there's been a lot of rain. Romo wore them a lot in practice last year to break them in. Its not a rookie mistake to get an advantage of having a better grip on the football in the elements. Lets not forget the man has a sore thumb so who knows how much of a disaster that would of been with his grip with a wet football.

Perhaps.. but there's no denying he threw up some ducks today, even with the few number of passes the attempted.

I'm telling you his thumb is still a problem. Even though the numbers were good last week before TO went out, Romo's passes were off. If Tony's thumb isn't 100% in two weeks, we may be in trouble.

And don't listen to what he says about it - he's a gamer who will never admit there's a problem because that would sound like an excuse.

he should lose the gloves...at least I hope that's why he threw the garbage he threw.

1) Wideouts rarely got any separation, and when they did, they dropped balls (Austin at least twice). This allowed the skins D to cheat up and play the run more.

2) No Owens and Glenn played maybe 5-7 snaps. Any team missing both their top 2 WR's is going to struggle on offense.

3) Skins played with at least TWICE the emotion the boys did and it showed.

4) Weather was bad and Romo seemed off. I don't know if it was the thumb, the gloves, or the WR's. Probably a combo of all of the above.

As long as we get Owens back, I'm not worried. Add in a healthy TG and the sky is the limit as long as they can get some chemistry going on offense. I would think Owens won't practice but maybe 2 days before our playoff game, if that.

He didn't look like he had an advantage. He looked pretty pathetic.

I don't think our OLine game-planned very well either, there were obvious break downs in the pass protection, and if your OLine doesn't play inspired football, the entire offense is in trouble, including Romo.

I believe the commentators said he wears those games in bad weather. They even stated that he has practiced with them several times and is very comfortable with them.

I'm not concerned about his gloves, Romo along with most of the team played poorly. Line was getting pushed around, Romo passes at times looked poor and when he did throw a good pass the WR would drop them. Face it Dallas came out flat and got their butts kicked no ands if's or butts about it. I'm confident this team will get themselves ready physically and mentally for the post season.

No, I don't.

What game was it?

Besides, we have HFA, so he won't be worrying those gloves anyway.

Personally, I don't think the gloves had anything to do with how he played. There were something like 6 balls dropped in that game, including a sure Touchdown to Miles Austin, if he just catches the ball.

Folks, Tony Romo was forcing passes to Terry Glenn to get him some work. He forced passes to Jason Witten to try and get him the record.

He is not in a slump. He looked very good against Carolina until Terrell Owens got hurt.

He was without his starting Center, his biggest threat at Wide Receiver and working with a new Wide Receiver.

When the SAVIOR dons the #81 jersey and comes back, all will be well :) .

I'm not sure what game it was, but Parcells talked to Romo about it, he said something to Romo like, "since when did you wear gloves?" Romo responded like, "I've always done it in bad weather".... I'm paraphrasing of course.

Oh, I think I remember that. I am not sure what game that was, but I think Parcells was joking wasn't he?

I think he was actually ticked off about it. Said something about just starting that trend in the middle of the season, but Romo said he's always done it.

Cool.

I have every game from last year, so I may go look to see if we actually won that game or not.

i think his thumb still bothers him, but not all that much.

he did get like 5 passes dropped. Witten was dropping some passes. Austin dropped 2 TDs (one was from Johnson though).

Aikman also said that the gloves that Tony wears are much better in comparison to the gloves he used to wear.

I was sure I saw the outline of his palm in one of the shots. I'm guessing the material used is very thin and designed for a better grip on the ball than previous glove types.
