How about that wasted draft pick, Escobar?

It was time he was "exposed".........now the next few teams will have to account for him and keep the Safeties inside the hashes which will then open things up more for Dez and TWill.....and even keep the Safeties off the LOS to help the run game...............it was like Linihan was saving him for a division game surprise,

Good to see Escobar produce as he did. I said the day the Cowboys drafted him that I would not have taken him but it was not because I felt he lacked the talent but because of needs else where. I do love the fact the guy has worked hard is showing better ability as a blocker which will get him on the field more so that he can be more involved with the offense. He has very good receiving talent and is showing himself as yet another legit weapon for the Cowboys.

So he's got, what, 200 yards and 5 TD's in 16 career games? Way to show those "haters", Gavin!

This thread is so ridiculous. In the rush to continue a time-honored CZ tradition of "calling out" other posters after someone who had been criticized finally has a good game, the OP didn't seem to realize that most of the criticism wasn't even directed toward Escobar the player. It was more toward the fact that we used a pick on a guy who we had no idea, or no desire, to fully utilize in the offense.

If he was this good all along, why have we hardly seen him on the field? The guy is a player, but it's a wasted pick when you spend a second rounder on a player you have no intention of really using.

You do know he has been injured both with shoulder and knee problems... hard to please all the people. Garrett says he is healthy maybe this is his norm.

He seems to be a solid red zone target with his size and speed. He hasn't really developed a lot more as a football player. 3 TDs in 2 games is impressive but I think a lot of us would have said before last week he was a disappointment. And really not much has changed. But maybe he's starting to figure things out and will play more of a role. He's obviously not going to be vital in the passing game like Witten or Dez or Williams are though.

And who's targets are you going to sacrifice then ? That's something that apparently was too hard to understand. Today, Williams didn't have a strong day, but Escobar did. So are the posts for Williams not producing enough going to start ?

thats the issue with so many targets and running the ball so much. when you only throw a couple dozen times a game it's hard to get everyone involved. ideally who ever the defense lets go to double someone else is who you go to

And that is the key, Romo stated himself it is his job to locate the open target and get the ball to him. Personalities or how bad some one wants the ball has no bearing on it.

Garrett mentioned a couple of times in his post-game press conference, by the way, that Escobar has been dealing with some injuries that apparently affected how the team wanted to use him earlier in the year. I don't remember that being a topic of much discussion here. Probably related to that shoulder he took late in the preseason that had him reportedly unable to lift his arm over his head.
