A couple guys I was really pulling for did make the team. The links are 2 their inspirational stories. Great reads if you havent already.

If nothing else these 2will be cracking heads on ST!

Tony Curtis
http://www.montereyherald.com/sports/ci_6790407

Did this guy come out of nowhere or what? Worked hard, went to NFLE and came back lighter, faster and better. We like to joke about TEs here following BP, but good ones are incredibly valuable. We should know.

Deon Anderson http://www.***BANNED-URL***/sharedcontent/dws/spt/football/cowboys/stories/082107dnspocowlede.2db0b87.html

Very impressive, scrappy team player. I really didnt think he had a shot when we opened up camp and Hoyte started knocking heads. The guy kept fighting which is apparently his MO, and I am happy to see him make it!

good post....Curtis has great work ethic and I don't see many of those unforgiving comparisons with Dan Campbell anymore....yes, Dallas is going into the season with three more similar tes than some wanted..but if the skill set is that good, you can find goal studs at otehr postions (and if you saw Tony's td vs the Vikes, he's no slouch down there at all anymore).

Anderson..I hope his up and down history stays up..don't know how he will deal with the kind of adversity that is football-competiton related as opposed to life experinece adverstiy, but you hafta root for his stamina.

Regarding Anderson I think the last 2 years, getting drafted and now making the team will allow him to become a successful young man. He is a little tank! I think he becomes a ST demon eventually.

I really find it amazing that with under 200 combined yards his U Conn team names him its MVP. Thats speaks volumes.

Curtis is a faster, better athlete the Dan Campbell.

Woah... Let's not get crazy now!!

LOL. Actually Dan was a damn fine blocker just not a great pass-catching tight end. His real value was as a true team player and a respected locker room presence.

Curtis is a great story, and now that hes made it, now what. Its not like he will see a lot of playing time bejind Witten and Fasano. Instead of another good TE (which we have 3 of btw) a good LB would be more beneficial I think. Dont get me wrong, I like the guys so far, but really what impact will he make on this years team.

I think Curtis will be a valuable STs player. Good size, speed and mobility. Very useful getting up and down the field on STs. He will also push Fasano. With the way we use TEs I think having 3 is fine. Don't be surprised to see Curtis, not Fasano in the 2 TE set when we pass.

We kept a young promising TE in case of injuries. As for linebacking depth, I share the frustration but I don't want to keep a linebacker who lacks necessary talent and cut a better TE. Don't know anything about newbie Rogers but 2 INTs in preseason is pretty good & he's also that OLB we need which allows Carpenter some breathing space depending on Ellis/Burnett injuries. Unfortunately Rogers will only be able contribute on ST against the Giants but hopefully can help more in 2nd game.

Will be interesting to see what Oglesby brings to the table.

You know the amazing thing to me about Tony Curtis and Remi Ayodele? Neither one of them looked good in NFLE at all. Then they get to San Antonio and suddenly both looked like viable options. Remi looked good enough to make someone else's squad and Curtis made ours. Unbelievable to me. I gave them zero chance. I should know better by now, but I still fell into the trap.

Deon Anderson is going to be a favorite player of mine. It's his destiny. I need to see some of the crazed chicken (best post draft story by far) stuff on Special Teams. Once I see that, the pedastal will get set up. I do expect him to be one of the inactives this week though.

Nice thread. Better than continually hammering (and whining) about the guys that got cut.

During the game against the Vikes, Babe and Mickey talked about that. They said that although Curtis was not a starter in NFLE they thought he learned what it took to be a professional. Playing the game was not the big obstacle, it was preparation and all the little things. So he was prepared when he got to training camp, which now gives him a shot to play.

Nothing like someone getting it. Good for him.

Like I said, Remi too. Pleasant surprise.

Tony Curtis is a nice young player with a good upside... I like Anderson to be the starting fullback by midseason!

Great post and I am excited about Curtis--he shows very soft hands and a big receiver is something happens to our starter.
