This is what all you "parity", salary-cap, free agency folks wanted, and now you got it. It's been going on for over a decade now, but this crap is the ultimate "roosters coming home to roost".
The "quality" teams horse has left the barn a long time ago.
Call it sour grapes, jealous or bitter all you want, but THIS is the state of the game. Even last year, nobody, and I mean NOBODY had the stinky Giants on their radar screen to make the playoffs. All the way up to Thanksgiving!! And I NEVER gave credence or cred to their "run" in the playoffs last year.
Carolina provided the only thing in the NFC that would've kept it sane, and they get dusted by the joke of the NFL, Arizona.
Now, one of these two mediocre laughing stocks is going to the SB.
This is what you get when nobody has any continuity. It's a crap-shoot every year, depending upon who "jells" at the right time, usually at seasons end. Used to be that teams were actually built, stayed together, remained good for a long time, and then gradually fell back to the middle of the pack. Now, we get the idiot Falcons going 3-13 one year, make the playoffs the year after that, and next year will go back to 5-11. Miami? The Jets? Remember when New Orleans was supposed to be the next "America's Team"?? After last year, they gave Cleveland three MNF games and look what happened. San Diego this year? And don't even get me started on Dallas!!!!
Some people get a warm & fuzzy feeling inside watching this baloney. Makes 'em feel all "fair" and "even" and "everyone has a shot". If that's what you like, then you're having the time of your life. You're also getting an inferior product of mediocrity, where the "team that doesn't want to lose the most" is your darling team de jour. Particularly in the NFC. In the AFC, the Patriots, Colts and Steelers have been holding down a reasonable fort. Those three teams are providing some semblance of consistency akin to the days when teams were respectable for a decade at a time.
The NFC? A complete and utter joke. Be prepared for the coming years where YOUR NFC is represented by such iconic teams as the Lions, Saints, Seattle and Falcons. Because anything can happen in this era of "parity".
And, IMO, the product SUCKS!!!!!

You need to seriously shut your mouth and suck it up that Dallas didn't make it this year. They didn't play when it mattered and yes it makes me angry, but they didn't deserve to make it one bit.
Every team in the NFL has a shot at the Super Bowl and these teams are playing well when it MATTERS. It's looking more like the Boys are the joke of the NFL and not the Cardinals.

This is exactly what the league wanted and the Commissioner wouldn't change a darn thing even if he could. FWIW, I like it this way too.lewpac;2572225 said:A gaggle of impostors and counterfeits......

It's gotten so bad nowadays that we can't even rely upon the "cursed" teams to stink up the joint year in and year out!!! Serious and loyal fans of THE GAME have come to depend upon the Fartinals to suck like clockwork. True, even a broken clock is right once a day (or twice depending upon your interpretation), but not the Cardinals.
Hell, even Seattle stunk up a SB recently. Don't even get me going on Tampa Bay winning one.
And don't embrASS yourself again by using the words "Cowboys" and "Cardinals" in the same breath! I don't care what my Cowboys have or haven't done the last decade or so. The Cardinals should NEVER WIN A SB, just to keep order and balance in the Universe. And even if they ever do, it'll be another 50 years before they get another home playoff game.
I'm hoping my arse off for Pittsburgh to win it all. Then, in the annuls of NFL Champions, there won't be a pimple on the butt of the list by saying something like "Cardinals, SB Winner", or "Eagles, SB Winner". There would be something terribly wrong with a listing of champions with one of those loser teams on it......................
Nor could a college team. Even the 0-16 Lions would absolutely mop the floor with Florida or USC if they played. It would literally be men against boys.tyke1doe;2572874 said:I can understand you being upset with league parity, but don't be silly. No high school football team would ever beat even the worst NFL team.
I doubt the folks in New England agree with that sentiment.ryanbabs;2572844 said:I have to agree with you as well. It's coming down to the regular season not meaning as much. As much as I hate the college system without playoffs, at least the regular system DOES mean something and you get great football throughout the season, not a "as long as we win 9-10 games we can take some games off" mentality.
