How can you not be excited about this offense?

How do they do in short yardage and goal line situations? This is a big area of concern. At 3rd and 3 or goal can we get the job done on the ground or do they have to air things out because of a poor ground game? 20 to 20 yard line they should be fun to watch but they aren't a great offense if they can not lean on the rushing attack at times.

Doesn't matter not going anywhere this year or until both Jerry and Dak are gone. It sucks but I have 30 years of evidence to suggest we wont make it past the security nd round ofbgge playoffs. As a matter of fact I don't think we even get a wildcard spot this year. Too many wholes and too little hope:/. 30 years of losing takes it out of even the best of fans.

Rather have Jerry go first

My Excitement for this Offense
1) Schott's offense now , not dink dunk stop/comeback Tex Coast - McCarthy offense
2) trade addition of big play WR George Pickens as WR2
3) addition of key asst. coaches Clayton Adams
4) drat selection of speed ball RB Jayden Blue plus more schemed Turpin
5) anticipated full healthy season from QB Dak

My Concerns about this Offense:
1) starting OTs are still unsettled (ala Guyton & Steele)
2) unknown about RB1.. in a depth rich RB class, we came away with a 5thround RB who has fumble issues ?
3) Is Dak's durability in question ?
4) Does our 3rd WR ala Tolbert &or Mingo strike fear/put pressure vs opposing secondaries ?
5) Is there a concern with our new backup QB (Joe Milton).. proven ?..experience ?.. offense learning ?

The only way a player is “due for a breakout” is because they haven’t yet. Hardly something you can count on.
I wouldn't expect a breakout from a 3rd day draft pick but a #1 and a #2 that doesn't breakout?

They have a name for those guys.

Coogs, your takes are almost as great as the Play makers hype videos just before the season. Kudos.

Well, to retrieve those takes he stares at his box of Lucky Charms every morning and the leprechaun tells him what to say.

Dak is back and should be ready to go, he'll have weapons at his disposal to throw to. You take a young stud in Lamb, and pair him with Pickens, fireworks should go off every game! Pair that a hungry TE in Ferguson, and some young backup TE's, along with a speedy Turpin, our passing game should challenge defenses in a way it hasn't challenged them in several years.

Our commitment to add to the offensive line can't be unnoticed. Do we have questions at both OT positions, of course, but with dedication from these OT's and new coaches to challenge them, we hope they improve to levels unknown for this offense. Our interior OL is looking great with Tyler Smith, and Beebee who as a rookie showed a lot of promise. Factor in a mean tough and nasty rookie in Booker, and we should be able to be more physical up front.

Questions still are there at the RB position, but I don't think it's that deep as fans have made it. Training camp begins soon, open up competition for EVERYONE and not just whoever is the highest paid/etc. Let those guys compete and the best person will get the start and hopefully will have a chance to find his rhythm in games and not be taken out so often. Sprinkle in some plays from our rookie in Blue, his speed alone if we can create lanes/get him catches, could be exceptional for us.

I'm excited about the thoughts of this offense and where things can go. You can't rule out other guys like Mingo/Tolbert giving us help on offense. I want to see how different the offense looks from previous seasons under Mike McCarthy. Will we rely on Dak to be in the shotgun often, will we see more 12 personnel. I can't wait, please give your thoughts!!
Why am I not excited:
1. Dak is back,
2. Questionable running back room,
3. Schotty is not a good offensive innovator,
4. Serious question at left and right tackles.
5. Tight end is second tier.
6. It’s the Cowboys, duh.

I add an Interesting to see section
1) Was TCO established because it suited: Dak. the limited receiving corp, or MM's inability to create imaginative plays.
2) (Taken from Voch/Broaddus), whether Dak wasnt picking up option runs due to his concerns for his health or under instruction (possibly involving Jerry).

My concern is if Dak can return to the old Dak that hasn't won anything. Or, will he remain the injured Dak who hasn't won anything?

Ok. They still don’t have a running back
