I have been reading different articles that states Dallas was blown out a couple of games last year.To my recollection, the only game we were honestly blown out in was the foreskins game last year, and they were just peeking at the time.We were the ones that slapped philly so hard, they will be feeling it for manny years to come.We were the ones who ended McChunky soups season.
We have improved in all fassets of the game.We got hands down the best receiver in the league and the most accurate field goal kicker in the league.
The offensive line had a major reconstruction and all of our rooks got a years experience.
Last time I checked we shutdown that high powered Seattle's offense and lost on a fluke interception couple with a chump missing a chip shot.We owned the Panther's and should have swept the Giants with a porus o-line.We didn't get a chance to whoop up on Tampa Bay or the Chi-Bears.
I feel confortable with the thought that,we should have made a playoff run if we were able to obtain a bid to play. However it just wasn't in the cards. Not like the prior year when we were getting smacked around.
I say the NFL better get a grip on reality, because there is knowbody in the NFC who made the gamebreaker moves like we did this offseason.
Mr.Lurie-you didnt spend the money to get tallent in this year, you will finish in the basement of the NFC East this year
Mr Snyder-You just broke the record for purchasing faulty equiptment,You got junk my freind.
The Joker in New York-This year you will find out ,that you should have just drafted PhillipRivers and been done with it
Dallas-Will have the division clinched by week 11,you heard it here first

I don't think the O-line has improved to the point where you can say it will hold up. Before Flozell went down last season there wasn't to many people singing his praises. After he did you would swear that the guy was the best tackle in the league. Bill said last year that he had a surprise at right tackle-he didn't. I'm not going to bash Pettiti because I think he did an amazing job, you get any 6th rounder to start all season and play to an "NFL level" then you could be the greatest coach/scout ever. He did a great job but that was still to much to ask of the guy. You hear about "rookie walls the speed of the game, playbooks that are hard to lean" and then think of someone who is so raw trying to pick all that up and adjust to a pro sports career!!! Rivera seems like a bust, center is the biggest concern and ( not being homertastic ) they got rid of the best lineman they had last year ( good move to much money).

Before you condemn me a naysayer, I want you to just ponder this... The biggest problem they had last year was the O-line. Since Bill has came to Dallas they have improved in every way. But if they still can't protect this year and improve the running game well then I think this off season is a bust.

As for TO being the "hands down the best receiver in the league", I feel you're wrong. Steve Smith is better and maybe a few other's. TO is probably top five but no way is he hands down the best.

Oh, don't worry, we'll be tons better this year. Possibly a Super Bowl contender along with Seattle and Carolina.

Keep that mentality. The Cowboys are as good as they can get, I dont think you should bother going to the draft or anything. 16-0 already locked up.

Lets just give you the rings already.

Love the enthusiasm and pretty much agree....however I don't see us clinching the division by week 11....that is unless we are 11-0 :D

Steve Smith occupies one of the top 3 spots for sure. But I would probably say TO and a healthy Randy Moss are there as well. No one has the ability to turn any play into a TD more readily than Steve Smith. Moss is the most feared WR in the game. No ifs and buts about it. Except the healthy part, thats the only if you may use. TO possesses a blend of speed and size that no other WR has. I like Chad Johnson, Harrison is good, Santana Moss had a great year last year, but to me, the top 3 are Owens, Moss and Smith.

I'm still concerned about our lines, regardless. It's tough for me to say you can lose guys like LA and La'Roy and be better for it.

We'll see.

It's a friday night and i have to wake up early tomorrow and am exhausted....so not really.

The post is there to make a point though. For anyone to even remotely consider that their team can't get any better is pure lunacy. I know he probably doesnt think that everyone is the best at their position, but every team needs depth.

You have no FS, even if you draft, its still a big liability. Besides sending Henson to europe, i dont see how you can feel that great with your QBs. O line is still a big question and maybe should have signed an elite Olineman than TO. Your passsing game never seemed to have been a problem but I think you unwisely got him (not counting his ability to destroy teams).

Also, the Seattle game, Seattle is a joke of a superbowl team. Only reason they can compete is due to their division.

If you look at it striclty by improvements on the most basic level, then most teams have done this. I doubt that many teams will simply not address a problem from the previous year.

I've learned not to judge mine or any other team's moves by off season actions. Last year, and I think most honest Skins fans will admit it too, Washington's moves in both FA AND the draft were utterly vexing. People on ES were vexed and Boys fans were joyous -

But somehow they got better! It was insane - everyone had them in the dregs, and they came out as the best team IMO (I think they were better than NY).

I look at our offseason and just think, *** are we doing?!? It all seems to defy logic to me. But the more I look at it, it seems like it just might work.

Anyway -we'll see!

You misread what he said. He wasn;t saying the team couldnt get better. He was asking "how" can't we get better. According to some mediots and 99% of rival fans the team has not improved at all. Most are predicting a bad year. He is simply asking with the obvious improvments how can people not say we could be better

Good post...but let me count the ways

Back-up QB - Most playoff teams have a viable backup. Bledsoe has been one tough cookie throughout his NFL career but to think that he can keep cranking out 16 starts at 34 is asking too much…see below

O-line - Kinda like what T.O.'s attitude, this position will be improved but it still needs work. The most important group on this team (given the circumstance it faces in 2006) and there are STILL a number of question marks. Just like hot dates, there are just some things you overpay for and good O-lineman is one of them.

RB/FB – Jones & Barber are IMO the best young RB combo there is. While I like Thompson, he could be very easily replaced if B.P. finds someone more reliable and polished in the areas of special teams, and QB protection. I like Polite but Cowboy fans won’t be satisfied unless they get another Moose and I think that’s very unrealistic.

TE – Witten and Hannam, are a reliable duo but watch out for Pierce. He’s coming off a serious injury but is for me an underdog contributor.

WR - Two WR's in their 30's and one has only played in all 16 games 2 out of his 10 years in the league. The other is about as unstable and potentially explosive as nitroglycerin. I really like Crayton but at best he’s a borderline complimentry WR.

FS – After Broock Marion and George Teague, it looks as if Roy has jixed the #31 in his attemps to occasionally immate a FS. Low blow at Roy but I love Roy (just show up to camp @ 215lbs). And anyone who thinks that he’s giving something up by droping 15lbs is crazy. Especially the older he gets, as most of us know.

LB - I’m not at all worried about any LB position. B.P. has always been able to find LB’s who can play his kind of football.

D – line – Gotta give the Cowboys and BP credit for having to cut some people, recently and in the near future who can play and perhaps someday start for other teams in this league.

CB – You can never have too many pass rushers and cover men. It’s a luxury but I expect the Cowboys to add some depth here. If T. New gets hurt, we’ll be relying on 2 CB’s who spent most of last year injured.

ST – We’ve got Mc, Vandy…Tyson Thomson??? Can D. Hester K.O.?

Yeah, I know I'm being picky here, but what the hell does "How can't we get any better" mean?

Once is a typo. Twice is something else.

its Randy Moss, hands down. argue all you want about production, but you put him up against double coverage he will just run faster and jump higher. nobody in the league can match his combonation of speed, hands, and jumping. put him with a guy like manning, we arent talking about harrison, and hes in the HOF

You know, it could be worse for us. We could have spent a grip on FA (like some teams do every year) and still not make it to the playoffs
