ESPN said the doctor had to check Prescott after the big hit out of bounce.
Does anyone know how close were we to concussion protocol?

They don't put up stats about closeness to concussion protocol. Nobody knows unless they are the unaffiliated neurologist hired by the league.

dak is tough
a few of those hits were pretty bad

That hit was a dirty, cheap shot. Which is the norm for an AFC North team. Go watch their meetings with each other, mainly the Steelers/Ravens playoff games as well as the Steelers/Bengals playoff game last season. So many malicious hits with the intent to injure. Scum.

It's nice to see (that is read) any football observer's comments discerning the nuances of tackling. Many fans see all tackling as equal. It isn't.

Such incidents aren't isolated to any one NFL division though. Plus, most defenders tackle without the intent to injury but a few do.

Prescott's honeymoon period with the rest of the league may be about over. He should fully prepare himself if he hasn't already. A few tacklers do tend to finish plays more 'vigorously' tackling the starting quarterback of America's Team more often than not--another reason why I've been very pleased with the offensive line's overall pass protection for Prescott this season.

Now imagine Romo taking that hit.
No need. Romo's been on the receiving end of a number of those types of hits over the years. He has bounced back from most of them but a few he hasn't--like pretty much like every player. Physics dictates the ramifications of every hit sustained in every tackle regardless whomever is on the receiving end of a tackle unless any particular player being tackled suffers from some form of physiological deficit.

He hurt his shoulder. Players get that stuff check out all of the time. I don't think he was even serious about taking a down off.
