How come Cincy/Bal are able to pressure w/no-names?

I'm sitting here watching the CIN-BAL game and I'm seeing the Bengals generate a nice amount of pressure with virual no names and scrubs.
Then I look at our team and we can't generate the same kind of pressure with supposed better players.
Fools Gold?.. did Parcells didn't really leave our team as good as we think?

You've gotta remember that with T-new out we can't do some things on defense.

With T-New in, we would leave him out there on his man by himself, thereby freeing up a guy to apply pressure.

I think we all saw last night that we are VERY thin @ secondary.

parcells is to blame for everything. The defense last night was apparently his fault too, even though his defense never gave up 35 points in a single game to the giants in 8 games...nevermind that fact though....

Its even parcells fault that the walkway from the cash lot to the stadium was flooded last night.

I wish that guy would just quit tormenting us, he just did everything wrong.

I have to agree-Don't the Bengals have scrub LBs due to injuries and suspensions?

Even WITHOUT Newman and Fergy, we have FAR more talent on D that a number of teams in this league. But nonetheless, it also keeps me wondering how we can't get the job done, but these other teams can.

Is it Parcells' fault? Not completely-but 90% of this roster is HIS-bottom line is you don't need FF guys, but you need PLAYERS who understand the scheme.

Look at New England and Indy-they have alot of no-names, but they nonetheless are very good players who can adapt to schemes nicely.

BTW-Parcells didn't leave his previous teams in good shape either. He left the Pats with Bledsoe, and the Jets $20m over the cap.

Lat's see here...........the genious that is Parcells;
Canty - Just a player
Spears - Bust
Fergy - Good but gone
Ware - great pick
Bradie - just a Player
Ayodele - high priced FA, just a guy
Carpenter -Bust
Burnett - Bust
Newman - great pick, but injured
Henry - high priced FA, average CB at best
Watkins - just a Player

Parcells had some high valued first day picks, and other than Newman, Ware and Witten, not one of them is an elite player. That's not to mention the Rogers, Jones, Johnsons and Petermans.

Yeah Parcells has no fault on the players on this team.

His defense might not have given up 35 points, but his team did. What's the difference?

You mention high valued 1st day picks and then throw on some 4th and below rounders......way to pile on with the injured list as well.

My bad....Watkins was a 5th round pick which is in the second day of the draft. Scratch his name and insert Skylar Green.

Green was a 2nd day pick as well...

But as for the original topic...

Just because you have never heard of a player doesn't mean he's not a good player or a no name.

As fans, we keep the magnifying glass on 'boys players most. Over half of us can quote their combine stats. I imagine if we cared about Cinci-Bal, we'd give more than a glance at their roster for more than FF purposes.

Huh? Didn't they give up some 36 against them last year at TX Stadium? And didn't they give up some 400+ yards in the rematch at the Meadowlands?(Thanks to bone-headed PFs by Whitfield and Plax, 2 scoring drives got killed)

Go back to thinking that Parcells is the superest coach of all time in the history of mankind.

Oh, wait. You don't think that you say? Yeah, I know, it's annoying when people say stupid **** like that.

I'm telling you, Robert Geathers is no scrub. That guy is a good football player. 10.5 sacks last year and off with a sack and a pick this year. Far better player than Spears or Canty.

Baltimore is by now means staffed by no names. But I don't think you meant that either.

But Cinci may have "no names", but consider a few things. Ogden went down early. On top of that, McNair was playing hurt all day, and his decision makign was very questionable.

And lastly, Cinciy blitzed a whole lot and they got picked up quite a few times.

Oh, and Deltha O'Neil and Leon Hall at CB also probably helped. Both those guys were playing real well in one on one matchups. That frees up defenders undearneath to blitz.

Yeah, if you look at the corners for both teams, you can see the difference in their schemes and ours. Cincy has a pro bowler in Deltha O'Neil, 1st round pick in Jonathon Joseph last year, and this years 1st rounder Hall. Baltimore has Rolle and McAllister. We have Jones and Henry (a FS his first year)!!
