How comfortable are you with Showers as the backup?

Yet ... we have nothing to lose by watching him one more time before we face the GiANTS.

TONIGHT THE PHONES BETWEEN CLEVELAND AND DALLAS WILL BE TIED UP TO GET THE ELDERLY MCCOWN HERE BY MONDAY.
Going into the regular season with a rookie and only SHOWERS IS A CRIME.

I can respect that. We need to have a plan to draft a QB. Can you imagine never drafting a need? You need a OL..but you never draft it? Or a DE? LB? WR? If QB is the most important cog..don't you draft one every free years...either for depth or as a future starter? Just asking...

Not very. I dont think he is particularly accurate. I think he profiles as a 3. I'd take a long look at whatever QB KC cuts.

Not at all, though I've heard Showers had an excellent training camp. In the preseason games he's getting backup linemen and receivers to work with.

As for a potential trade option, and just for a very late conditional pick, why not E.J. Manuel of the Bills? He's started some games in this league and Buffalo has Cardale Jones to backup Tyrod Taylor now.

If I'm the front office, I'd look for guys who were top performers in big time college programs the past couple of years but who haven't had that many NFL opportunities - like an Aaron Murray.

Dak has looked good with backups. Had Showers performed better in camp he would have gotten opportunities with better players. Dak earned his right to play with some of our starters and he's also performed well with our backups.

Dak had performed with backups but Showers has performed with backups and guys that won't make this team......
