I got in late tonight and missed the first half. How did Spencer look tonight?
He's the best they got and he's improving game by game. Doing that to him would hurt his confidence more than anything.LatinMind;1594668 said:from the way things are being said. it looks like dallas would be served better to keep him for situations, rather then just throwing him out there. that could end up messing with his confidence. but he needs to sit a yr atleast and learn from ware and ellis. will only make him better.

he made a good deflection on a 15+ yd pass downfield (in coverage) but was screwed when the deflection was caught by the TE...he also blew up a GL play by nearly sacking Cutler and forcing an incompletion
he didnt do anything abd that I saw

A lot of people seem to be expecting a Ware-like performance out of Spencer. Don't.
Spencer can be a very good player, but it'll take some time. Which is why we all should be hoping that Ellis can drop the tampons and get back on the field.
I should hope we would hold of on labeling him a bust...so far he is far from a bust. He just needs a bit of time to develop.Draegerman;1594840 said:Spencer Report, 3rd edition
But let's hold off before labeling the kid another first-round bust for the Cowboys.
Now this sounds like someone who watched the same game I did. He has great potential and shows the hustle and attitude to realize that potential. He's not where we want him yet of course, but he looks like he will get there pretty quickly.Spencer played a solid game tonight. Plenty of room for improvement, but solid. I actually think the stats guys screwed him out of a couple of hurries that forced Jay Cutler to throw incompletions.
Spencer had a shot at making a couple big plays. He tipped a pass, but the ball bounced right to TE Daniel Graham. But Spencer showed impressive athleticism by catching up to Graham 20 yards downfield despite getting beat off the line by a swim move. Spencer should have sacked Cutler a few plays later, but his pressure forced an incompletion that made Denver settle for a field goal.
