Absolutely! The fact that they gave up 329 to Johnson and STILL had a chance of winning was incredible at the time. This time around, Tate and Johnson both combined for slightly more than half of what Johnson got by himself in 2013. This has to be seen as an achievement by the defense, during a completely lackadaisical effort on the part of the offense in the first half. I found it astonishing that they were able to survive this game at all. Is this defense getting better each week? It certainly seems like it and Michael Irvin might well prove prescient where Spencer is concerned. I don't know how else to reconcile a bad day for the offense with 24 points being enough to win. If this team advances to a SuperBowl, then I think the coach of the year is definitely Marinelli...who has taken what was initially thought to be a "dead-man-walking" defense and made it pure gold.
