I grew up watching my dad and uncles all root for the Boys in the early 80's in South East TX. At that time it was all about D White,Hill,Pearson,Dorsett,Randy White, and Too Tall Jones.

Yep, .. and Tom Landry.

Chuck Howley drew me to the Cowboys, .. Tom Landry made me stay.

For me they might as well have been called Tom Landry's Boys.

I prefer the Antonine Wall. Was built to expand Roman interests and territory into Scotland. After 20 years it was abandoned and they had retreated back to Hadrians Wall.

I really didn't even know that there were still existing parts left of that one. I knew they had pushed into Caldonia and built another wall... but I haven't seen any pictures of anything. Where in Scotland is it? Why is it that you prefer it, is it better preserved?

It ran across the country between the Firth of Forth and the Firth of Clyde (Basically just north of where Glasgow and Edinburgh are today). As far as I know there isn't really any of it preserved other than predominantly grassy ruins, I just prefer it as I like the idea that we kicked them out so they retreated to Hadrian's Wall.

Did you run it wearing woad, lol?

Haha, yeah. All the might of Rome didn't help them much north of Hadrian's wall. In the end, Rome wanted nothing to do with the Caledonians. It is something to be proud of, because not many cultures stood up the Rome and survived to tell the tale.

As many of you know I'm from England and the reason I got into the cowboys was through research I wanted a team with a great history and loyal dedicated fans I never looked for a glory team and if the cowboys had won the Super Bowl in 2012 I perhaps wouldn't be writing this now. No one else in my family likes football so I'm pretty much a lone supporter of the team in the lone star state!

This is one of the few threads on here where you can't really disagree with anyone else and argue hahaha

I disagree. You're not from England. :D

Pretty basic for me. I was never into sports but my Dad was always a huge Cowboy fan. When I got to high school everyone was talking about the Cowboys and other sports so I got interested. I decided to sit down with my Dad starting the 2007 season (13-3 year) and watched the entire season and I've never missed a game, preseason/regular, since.

I wish i started watching sooner though honestly but I was never into it.

Now that I think about it, I may have been mislead since I started watching them in such a good season lol I wonder what would have happened if I started a couple years earlier or later?

Born and raised in Dallas, so I had no other option but to be a Cowboy fan.

Born in the late 80s in Dayton, OH, and sure as hell wasn't going to root for the Bengal of the 90s. The first game I ever remember really sitting down and actually watching all the way through was the Cowboys/Steelers in Superbowl XXX. I was 7 years old and simply fascinated with how Emmitt Smith ran the football. The following year I watched every game that was televised, and watched ESPN like it was my job.

Been a fan ever since 1991 (born in 84). My first recollection of really watching football was that season. When we beat Chicago in the wild card and then got demolished by Detroit the next week. Then the Bills/Commanders Super Bowl. My whole family was into the Cowboys so I just naturally watched them too and became a fan.

But I wish I was older when they won those Super Bowls and had all that success. I took it for granted. My first 5 years watching football they win 3 Super Bowls. I thought winning Super Bowls were no biggie and that's how it always would be. Little did I know after beating the Eagles in the wild card round in the 96 season, I was in 6th grade, I would only witness one playoff victory the next 17 years of my life.

I remember when Dallas won their first of their 3 in the 90s. Everyone around was going crazy and honking their horns. It was a vibrant time. But I didn't really get to enjoy it being so young.

1984 here as well, except unfortunately I didn't really become an avid watcher until Super Bowl XXX and beyond. SB 30 is literally the first game I remember actually watching and taping (the VHS tape is long gone now though). So I'm grateful that I've been able to enjoy at least one Super Bowl in my lifetime. I'm a little envious that I didn't watch the games earlier like you did.

EDIT: just noticed that April 23rd marked 10 years that I've been a member of this site. Holy crap.

Way back when I was a little tyke there was one memorable game that sucked me in and I've been a Cowboy fan ever since. It was Christmas Eve, lot's of relatives and friends were over to visit. My Dad and my Uncle along with several others were in the Den watching a game. After being told for the 10th time that my presence in the kitchen might stop Santa from coming that night I reluctantly abandoned my search for freshly baked Christmas cookies and joined them in the den. Up until that point I had never paid any attention to football, but everything changed that day. There was this team in the screen in these fancy silver and white uniforms, star on their helmet etc. and I figured I'd root for them. Well it seems like I definitely made the right decision that day. These guys in white and silver couldn't be stopped. To a little guy like me it seemed like every other play they were running the length of the field and scoring on things that I learned were called "bombs" or "interceptions", none of which made any sense to me but it was all very exciting. I've been a fan ever since thru Super Bowls, 1-15 seasons and everything in between. That game that drew me in ended up being a 52-14 playoff win over the Cleveland Browns that took place the week before the Ice Bowl against the Packers.

Hi everyone, Im from Argentina and my names Lucas. At the start of the 2000 one friend of mine went to the USA and came back with a football (it was one of the bucs) and learnt, and then taught us, bout football. I liked the game a lot, and when I looked for a team to support, found that star that I then remembered from my sega genesis videogame era. My uncle back then bought me an american football game, I was little by then and thought it was rugby jeje, and always have chosen the team of the star, because it was the best at the time jeje.

I learnt a lot bout the Dallas Cowboys, watch the last games of Troy, Emmitt... Basically, start being a fan when we started not to win anything jeje.

I went to USA and Dallas of course, in 2011, and buy a lot of Cowboys stuff, and fulfilled my dream of throwing some passes in Cowboys Stadium. :)

CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
Ok, I became a Cowboy fan even living here in NY for 3 reasons. The first one is just that I grew up in a household with Cowboy fans. I have cowboy shirts, etc before I was even a football fan. Secondly, I became aware of the sport and started following it during the tail end of the huge Cowboy/Steeler rivalry of the 70's. In grade school everyone was either wearing a Bradshaw or a Staubach Jersey. I was wearing the Staubach one... obviously. So I had this sense of a rivalry and "picking sides" before I even understood the nuances of the game. So here I was in NY... rooting for the Cowboys and in my youth equally rooting for a local team. Since the Jets were in the AFC, it seemed fine to root for two teams. I even had a Richard Todd jersey. I had posters for both teams. Then it happened. The Jets moved to NJ. My child sized brain felt betrayed and I decided at that moment that I would no longer be a Jets fan. At that point, (again a child's rationale) that I would only be a Cowboy fan. They were not local, so if they moved from Dallas to another distant city, it wouldn't matter at all. Far away is far away. And that was that. Been a diehard ever since.

Sadly, my first memory that really, really stuck was "the catch" UGH.

This is very similar to the rationale I used when I chose to be a Liverpool supporter.
