How did you guys go from being a team that got beat at home, by the 3-13 Lions, to what you are today, with a new head coach and new OC? This was suppossed to be a transition year, right?

Better coaching.....the talent was there last year but let's wait and see how the rest of the season goes

We were also a team that was considered the best in the NFC after beating the Colts last year. I think it's foolish to look at our December collapse last year and say "That's what that team is."

This REALLY shouldn't be surprising anyone. We added talent to a talented roster, and replaced our two major weak points.

Tony Romo, an undrafted free agent, is actually a down-grade from Drew Bledsoe, a Super Bowl QB and former number 1 overall pick in the draft.

Dallas had talent last year and I think the addition of Davis on the line has been a big help in allowing Romo time to find these weapons. Our players have taken to the systems they are running and are playing relaxed.

The Lions game was clearly not an indication of how good we were. There were 15 other games in that season you know, and slip ups happen. But to answer your question, Bill Parcells provided the talent, and instilled the work ethic in the players, but imo his heart wasn't in it, especially later in the season. He gave his all, b/c that's the type of guy he is, but the players could probably tell and didn't respond well to that.

Easy, we had the most predicable offense and defense in the league. We actually have creativity now.

If a guy has changed his tune, and gone from making trouble to being a decent member, there is really no reason to bring that stuff up in a complimentary thread.

Save that for firehawk.

You don't know much about the Cowboys, do you.

We were a 9 win team going in to the last 2 HOME games of the season last year and playing the Egirls and Lions we certainly should have won at least 1 game to be a 10-6 team and maybe even both to become an 11-5 team. As Yeag said, the talent was in place, and now we get Ellis back and Tank is coming so look the F out BOY.;)

It's quite simple: Tony Romo.

Look, all the other factors point to a difficult transition. Between the new D, new O, new coaching, significant injuries, and the like, we have every excuse for coming out of the gate slow.

But there is one thing that can overcome all those kinds of things: great QB play. And we got lucky and struck gold with Romo. He makes the thing comlpetey go.

His last post before starting this thread was how Romo is too white and fat to run very fast .... so I do not consider that "becoming a decent poster"

but thanks for the advice

The talent was there last year, the difference is how the talent is used this year. Parcells was very conservative on both offense and defense. Everyone knows Phillip's defense isn't conservative. Well, Jason Garrett said he was going put his best players forward and attack. The defense is forcing lots of turnovers and the offense is blowing people out.

The difference is very simple. Parcells, his schemes and philosophies, were predictable and outdated and he refused to adapt. Also, his style and demeanor wears on a team as the season goes on to the point where he actually loses a good % of the team and they stop performing. All of this is the reason for the late season collapses every year under Parcells. He gets 100% of the credit for assembling the talent we now have but he couldn't get it done as coach. I think for the last 2 years he would have rather just been a GM instead of coach and it showed in how the team performed.

Now, to how we got where we are at right now. It starts with Romo and a coaching staff willing to show confidence in him and let him do his thing. Parcells kept him on a choke collar in fear of allowing him to make a mistake. Thats not the case this year. Romo has worked hard and improved his game. When you put that together with someone with his natual ability, it can really come together into something special. That may be what we are witnessing at the moment. Other things are also happening. TO is happy and becoming a team player. Witten is playing lights out and Fasano is good too. Crayton and Hurd are emerging as legitimate WRs. The OL is much better than its been in a long long time. The coaches are attacking downfield and playing to win, not playing not to lose. On defense, they are embracing a new aggressive scheme and improving within it. Hamlin has seriously improved the deep middle play and we are pressuring the QB much more than in years past while still stopping the run. It is all coming together to create a really good, deep, overall balanced team. They do almost everything well and have a coaching staff thats willing to unleash them and let them do it all game long. They haven't played the best teams in the league so far so we will see how it goes against NE, GB, Philly, and Wash.

EXCELLENT find!

He's covering all of his bases so he can come back later with either argument....;)
