As usual, many whiners during and after the FA period. How come we didn't sign or trade or get X player.
we lost too many FA's and so forth. You know, the usual melt down threads and posts....LOL....

How does this draft change your thoughts and opinions. Same, better, worse?

Now I know many will say, let us wait to see how they look on the field, in the season, in 2 to 3 years. Well that is just fan speak crap some of the times, and we all know and understand that line of thinking. As for the most part it is true.

however, just live in the moment, and reflect, how you felt then, and how you feel now.

For myself, I was not in a panic, but a wait and see how the draft goes attitude. I feel we improved a lot. And feel very good about going into TC.

I feel they had a very good plan for all the rounds and they stuck to it and we have to give them credit for that.I can optimistically say we got 4 key defensive players in the draft who will all contribute immediately.

I thought they were sticking their butts out waiting for it to get shot off when they let 4 guys in the secondary go. Their assumption that the draft would fall their way, and that they could even go DL in the 1st round, was nuts.

Then they pulled it off. Only thing to wait for is the Lewis court thing and hopefully all will be well. They got great players it appears.

I feel pretty good. Filled a lot of holes. Got rid of some bad contracts. Feel like the organization is being run by those who know how to now. Jerry looks like a figurehead. Excited to also see Jaylon this year

I like the way we handle things since Garrett is HC.

We handle things more structured and with a concept rather then those Joneses who are both very impulsive and more kind of machos who like to talk the talk but really dont have no clue how to plan for success.

So i was very satisfied before the draft because we approached the start of the offseason the same way we did the last years. And to me that is the right way.

The draft was good regarding the positions we selected. It was handled well. Well enough to see we follow our concept.
Wether the players are as good as advertised has to be seen. If not we should revaluate our scouting personal.

So overall i am very happy with the way we handle things.

Had some anxiety and restlessness before the draft. After the draft was over, I felt a little sleepy and tired, but then again it rained a lot in the DFW area and we had a cold front move in.

To tell the truth, I was a little nervous before the draft. Thought there was a good chance that they could screw the pooch this draft much like the 2009 draft (I think that was the year) the infamous trade-down for backups year. Especially drafting so late in each round. And esp. after the success of last years draft.
After the draft - I am tickled pink. I will not doubt our drafting dept. any more. The structure we have in place now has put 2 very good drafts together back to back.
It seems obvious now, that they had a plan when the season ended, and stayed true to it all the way thru. With picking that late in every round and still coming away accomplishing the plan they set out - well done !
Very good day today !
And I think every one of the shot callers have now learned how to reign Jerry in from his "Crazy Ivan's" he likes to do. With the news of Gregory's failed test - and should be his last - again, I think he will be less inclined or easier persuaded out of making the rash decisions.
We have become a strong, smart, reliable draft team. Keep them all together much like they talk about the continuity of the coaching staff and there is no reason why this cannot become the norm for this team.
Again, very happy today.

I don't like the way we approached free agency or the mass exodus we allowed to happen. I'm still disappointed by it, and the draft doesn't change that.

We did have a phenomenal draft though, and I'm very happy with it and the shape the team is in currently. They nailed it.

Can have mixed feelings but still be optimistic and excited overall.

Pre draft: The defense was a sieve.
Post draft: I like the secondary better. Front seven still a work in progress.

Whether the draft results in success or not -- I am pleased with the approach. I was nervous about having a worse D this upcoming year than this past season, which still may be true if the young players do not pan out, however the team had a systematic approach given draft depth, cap space, and talent level to go out and try to rebuild the D. We still don't have a premier star, but if the team can play as a solid unit, this Defense has the potential to be a top 15 D this upcoming year. That would be a huge improvement, and given youth, would be promising upside for the future.

They came into the draft with three glaring needs at DE, CB, and S and addressed all those needs which was unusual. They also got excellent value in rounds 2, 3, and 6. Overall, the draft went much better then I expected even though some of the pass rushers didn't fall to 28 like I had hoped.

I felt going in like our positional needs were so specific, that we were set up to make some reaches or to be stuck with the wrong players available when on the clock.
Seems to me like we got an exciting group of players at those positions of need, without making bad reaches. Everything fell together really well. The Jets trade was a brilliant move I think.

Was anxious going in. Always thought we needed 2-3 players in each of secondary and DL. Draft delivered this. Was fearful of the team going off script and impulse drafting a BPA who wasn't strictly needed. Thankfully that didn't happen.

Disappointed that we don't have a pure pass rusher on the roster. I get Marinelli's DL preferences, and like Taco etc. but would still like to have the option of having the specialist tool in the tool box to use on passing downs. Pass rush is my biggest worry right now.
