How does Romo still manage to keep this same attitude...After everything?

We've all heard or read this from his press conference after the 44-6 beating to the Eagles:

"I wake up tomorrow and keep living. You don’t [deal with it]. You just keep playing the game. It’s a fun game, and it’s enjoyable. We’re going to try to win next year. We’re going to try to get back in the playoffs, and we’re going to try to win a Super Bowl.

"If you don’t, OK. If you do, OK. Then you’re really a great player. If you don’t, you’re just a solid, good player, and I’ll have to deal with that, not you guys. That’s just part of the job.

"I’ve had a lot worse things happen to me than a loss in a sporting event, that’s for sure. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, then I’ll have lived a pretty good life."

This is a great philosophy to have, but this historic loss does come after his botched snap ended our season two years ago, a horrible showing a year ago in Dallas that resulted in another stinging exit, and now this is Philadelphia. It seems to me that the current approach the takes to the game isn't working, but it seems like he doesn't really mind. He still gets paid, he considers himself "solid," and he's "lived a pretty good life." This laid back attitude needs to go if he wants to start winng games that really count. That is the point, right? If he doesn't start taking this $60 million plus job any more seriously, then it's time to look for someone else.

People forget that he was speaking as someone who just fainted in the shower, team mates were fearing for him, stretcher was brought in. All of a sudden he puts things in perspective, and everyone wants him cut.

Because to some guys it is just a job.

I take my job a little more seriously. And if I got paid over $60 million, you would never hear that crap coming from my mouth.

if you have a bunch of idiots asking you questions and your about to collapse, i think your just spitting words out. Just think about all the things we've said. Yes the coach is a big part of this attitude, but no i dont think deep inside he feels that way. None of us can really know.

There are millionaires who have failed many times on their way to becoming millionaires. They succeed because of that attitude.

Well, he did cry after the Seattle playoff loss, but this is two weeks in a row that he's been defensive and alarmingly nonchalant after stinging defeats. Read the Jim Reeves column in the Daily Zone.

Because then all the idiot fans will be questioning your cajones, as you guys are doing now. I do wish people would think a little more about what they are being spoon fed. With the pressure this team has, and all the bad comments made about Romo, im sure he's tired of that. He's only human, he's not a good public speaker, thats for sure. And how many times has any of us said things that werent true out of anger, frustration, disappointment. I see the guy going to work every play, even when the game is out of reach. If he was content with lossing, he would of said screw this, i hurt let me go rest, i dont care about this game.

I know Romo wants to win. I think everyone knows that...

But I also think these guys were sick and tired of everything, and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them were happy that the season was over.

Spot on. I don't think I have ever seen him take a play off.:)

if you listen to the PC you can tell he's just annoyed by the questions. same stupid questions over and over again. reporters trying to get their soundbite.

the reporters asked well what happens if you don't make the playoffs next year?

is that how you guys want tony to approach next season? trying to figure out what he's going to do when he fails again?

or how about crying on the field and getting mocked by fans everywhere?

this is the same canned answer he's been giving for a while to these series of negative questions. it falls into QB commandment 10 "Don’t panic – when all around you is in chaos, you must be the hand that steers the ship. If you have a panic button so will everyone else. Our ship can’t have a panic button."

I'm sorry that Romo may be getting tired of answering these questions, but if he wouldn't play like crap in big games, he wouldn't have to.

Let me add this: Play like crap in big games for 3 years, and then seemingly not care afterwards.
