How important would secondary and pass rush become, if Giants draft Amari Cooper

After watching superbowls year after year not feature any prime time WRs, think people would realize real life football is different than Madden.

Guess not.

Just to play devil's advocate here... it should be noted that Julian Edelman was a prime time player in the last SB for NE
and if Seattle's WR, Lockette, were a bit more physical on his route, the rookie would not have had a chance to make a play
at the end...... keeping in mind it should've been a run play to Beastmode anyway...... but I do see the point you're trying to make.

We take Gurley at #27 or Gordon. And defense rest of the draft. Our offense would just be as scary with Gurley if he's healthy with our wr's weapons.

Its starting to look like Gurley and Gordon might not be there at 27.

It would be great. Their O-Line is trash and if they continued to ignore it all the better.

Those WR's will look great out there doing absolutely nothing because Eli is spending entire games on his back.

and the correct answer is... defense is always important

Seattle and New England seem to make it to the Super Bowl just fine with average receivers. And the last dynamic duo in the NFL was Randy Moss (in his prime) and Cris Carter, and the Vikings rode them right to the Super Bowl.

Even if Cruz can't make it back they still have Randle. That team is loaded at wr.

Yeah I mean i've seen dominant receiving tandems fail. Jeffrey's and Marshall probably was the best one in the league last year and hasn't gotten in the post season.

IT would mean nothing IMO. Who were the receiving tandems in Seattle and New England?

I don't understand why would you want to take even more touches away from ODB. He's already proven that he can handle and catch anything his way. To invest that high in a #2 makes no sense to me.

If both top rated RBs are gone, then someone highly rated on Defense will slide. Bring on that scenario, falls into our laps like the head of a cheap date on Wednesday night before 9:37 in the PM.

Good, let them pile up as many receivers as they want. Not going to help much when Eli is running for his life every down, and not much help from the running game.

Yeah, another receiver is going to make them a top 5 offense. LOL.

Awesome signature man.

Wouldn't necessarily 'guarantee' success. The Bears put up the following receiving stats in 2014.....

- Alshon Jefferey: 85 catches & 10 TDs
- Matt Forte: 102 catches & 4 TD's
- Martellus Bennett: 90 catches & 6 TD's
- Brandon Marshall: 61 catches & 8 TD's

In 2013, the other Manning was crushed in the Super Bowl despite having D. Thomas, Welker, Decker, J. Thomas, etc.

A good question might be...what happens to Eli if the Giants don't successfully address their O-Line?

Cooper might not be that big of a deal in the pros. He's not that fast, and he made college corners look bad, but that doesn't always translate.

He'll be good, but not great, I think. A lot of highly drafted receivers don't pan out as great players in the pros.

Awesome signature man.

Thanks dude, I always wondered if there's a Cowboys fan among the show's creators who purposely added that not-so-obvious reference. Probably purely coincidental though.
