It seems like in 2008 everyone knew or predicted Felix Jones was going to Dallas and most even predicted some kind of combination of Jones and Jenkins

In 2007 Anthony Spencer was a mild surprise, if you could put 2 and 2 together you probably figured this out 2 or 3 weeks before the draft

In 2006 Bobby Carpenter may have been the worst kept secret in the NFL.

In 2005 you knew it was either Demarcus Ware or Shawn Merriman. I'll admit Spears got me.

In 2003 everyone knew if Robertson was gone Newman was the pick.

In 2002 everyone knew unless he was gone Roy Williams was the pick.

This is the first time in a while that the potential picks are all over the board. Yes the names are starting to come into focus but even now you can take your pick between 3-5 names as well as 3 or 4 positions and the trade scenario is starting to play a little louder as each week passes.

The next week or two should be interesting. Will everything come into focus as in year past or is this thing about to get more confusing?

It's usually the 2-week mark when things start to come into focus a bit.

That's when Mosley mentioned Spencer.

Mosley has a pretty good source(s) at Valley Ranch. Pay attention to what he reports in the days leading up.

I think it's Nate Allen.

I read somewhere that Dallas has given 3 safeties 1st round grades and Allen was not 1 of them. The 3 were Berry, Thomas, and Mays..

It sounds like the info DCfanatic has been getting from Broadus points to Nate Allen being the guy.

I wouldn't be surprised if our 1st 2 pick were Nate Allen and Alualu.

Don't misconstrue this with who I want, but I have a feeling Taylor Mays is going to be a realistic option for our 1st round selection.

From what I heard Dallas is wanting Mays and Bruce Campbell gone before they pick because they think it will push better players further down.

I don't think they want any part of those 2 players.

I think 27 is a little high for Allen, you don't think so?

No I do. I think we are going to trade out of the 1st round and select him.

Supposedly there is 40 players with 1st round grades in this draft so im expecting a trade back and Nate Allen to be the selection on the next night of the draft unless Pouncey, Earl Thomas, or possibly Dez Bryant falls.

Out of those 3 I think Pouncey is the only 1 they would for sure pull the trigger on but its starting to look like he will be the 1st interior Olinemen taken.

I could definitely see us trading down..I would actually prefer us to trade down and acquire more picks..this draft seems pretty deep to me..I still cant seem to put a finger on who I really want at 27 if we werent to trade down.

Honestly, I believe there are only 4 guys realistically that are going to make Jerry stay put at 27. Iupati, ET, K. Wilson and Dez. Other then that all bets are off and I'm starting to feel pretty certain with any trade down Dallas is looking at McCluster, Allen and McCourty.

What about Pouncey? You think he will be off the board?

If it is between Iupati and Pouncey I think Dallas will go Pouncey.

Iupati may have the highest 1st round grade on the Cowboys board once it's stacked for the final time.

I dont think there is any way Pouncey enters the discussion or at least not in the top 23 grades they have given out in round 1.
