Mick says Colombo got scoped 3 weeks ago and that it was not serious. So why is he still not ready? I have seen a lot of players go from scope to playing in 2-3 weeks.

I have had one knee scoped six times and the the other once.

It is never a set time. It depends on how much needs to be done. One of mine I felt 100% in 4 days. One other it was 6 months.

al johnson had a scope on thanksgiving the year we lost to denver and started the next week. a few years back I remember Brent Jones from the niners got a scope on a Tuesday and played that Sunday.

I expect Columno and Adams both could go -- they are getting held out a) to be cautious and b) possibly as a bit of a motivation for Free and Marten to get signed

How would that motivate Free and Martin? It's their agents that are negotiating?

These guys are going to have more of a chance to show their stuff with the starters out. That is a big motivation to get contracts signed.

I knew that part, what I was questioning was how would that motivate the players when it's their agents doing the negotiations? Or, are you saying that the players could put pressure on their agents to get the contract done?

A smart player does not leave it all to his agent- who wants HIS share of the contract- and so wants to get as much as possible. Even if it means the player misses most of camp and never catches up. With all the problems THAT leads to. The player needs to think about that and be ready to step in.

Players can and probably do put pressure on their agents to get deals done.
