He said in his PC that he has been told that he worries to much about how they win, not happy that they just won? Something to that affect...

Meaning...if they won, and played poorly like Giants he is not happy.

I can throw myself in that category as a fan...I look at all the things that we SHOULD have done better and worry they will not be fixed by next game...that's just me.

Some are happy with the win and jump in the air and move on to next week..

Which are you? Just curious???

Is it a Type A vs. Type B personality thing???

I'm happy with any win but I'm not happy about the team being sloppy. I'd rather win and work on improving than lose and work on improving. Face it every team out there even SB winning team are going to have wins that were very sloppy but at the end of the year no one cares what it looked like it only matters that you won.

It depends on the situation. I wasn't too upset with the SF game because it's a road game. The same goes when I watch college basketball and I see my Syracuse Orangemen squeek by on a conference road game. Sometimes a win is a win.

But as a coach, Parcells HAS to view games in this fashion. If he doesn't, it will most likely come back to haunt him.

True and it is almost a blessing for a coach. He gets the win and he still has a reason to jump on him team. I think it is harder to deal with a team that is full of themselfs and starts believing all the press clippings they see.

That is exactly how I was when I coached.

Because you know that whatever you didn't do well may cost you a win down the road.

It has to be corrected.

You can't be content with just the win if you played poorly in certain areas.

The problem with all of this is that even when you win and play well in all areas, (see Eagles game) as a coach you know that that is no guarantee that you will play that well the next week. (see Giants game)

Coaching is a hard business.

Now as a fan I'm content with the win because I know I am not responsible to correct anything.

I only care about the win. If we make the playoff's they aren't going to penalize us because some of our wins were "sloppy." Now can you discern if the team is playing well by how they win? Absolutely, but at the end of the day, I just want to win.

Reminds me of the 90's when we were so good. The media and fans would get all over Jimmy because the team only won 30 to 20. Just gimme the win baby.

I'm kind of like that, but in a different way. If we win a 42-37 type game -- like last year at Seattle -- I hate it, because I see our defense as playing terrible. On the other hand, a win like last week's I love, because it means our defense played great.

So I don't care if the offense makes all kinds of mistakes and we win, and in fact I almost like it... Because it means our defense won the game. :)

Not sure what's up the Orangemen football. They went from perennial 6-6 to 1-whatever. Losses to UConn and Rutgers is pathetic.

What's up with the WCO? They don't have the players for it. The blocking schemes are horrible, and they have horrible fundamentals.

They're going to lose to Temple. That should shut the door to any recruiting prospects.

How long before they can the new coach?

You know who is happy about a sloppy win? A bad coach.

Yes it is a personality trait and I was told numerous times by my wife about how much pain in ...... I am about trying to get everything perfect or making her do everything perfect :D

Strangely though, I do that only to myself and people I care most, i.e. have high expectations. So for since Cowboys are a team I care a lot about, I guess I am in BP category in that case. Always worried about Cowboys being full of themselves, like others noted below.

Only win I enjoyed completely probably was win against Eagles last week. But at the same time I am not like some people here who post about every mistake as if that is biggest mistake ever made by a player or team though.

I used to think like you but I have come to the conclusion that football is like baseball. Even if it's a crappy win, it's still a win and it adds to the momentum/emotion factor. And that's what football is all about these days; momentum. You can take the crappiest team and they could get lucky and win ugly in 5 or 6 games in a row and that team will suddenly acquire so much confidence that they will look and start playing like a different team.

I used to think like you in that an ugly win was like a loss because it didn't speak well of our future against other teams. But I realize that momentum/emotion factor means everything in football these days. I have seen some really talented teams fail to make the playoffs because they started off the season with a string of close losses.

I almost always look at what we could've done better. But in a Division game I am looking for a W.

First, as a fan, a win is a win no matter what. And I'm happy about every win.

With that being said, I do want my team to be concerned when ever they play poorly, win or lose. Being content as a team with just a "win" breeds appathy and before you know it, you are looking a a string of 6-10 and 5-11 seasons...sound familar?

Personally, I loathe a sloppy win. It makes me feel like the win wasn't 100% as we could have easily lost as well. To me, a complete win is when the other team had no chance of winning themselves. A few friends and myself play a dynasty on NCAA 2006, even when I win, 77-14, I am usually not happy about it because at some point in time during the course of the game, my passing sucked, or my defense gave up a 70 yard touchdown run, or something else of that sort. Its just the way my nature is. So when Dallas beats the Giants in overtime, I am not completely satisfied by just the win.

Haven't watched them much recently, but the Orangemen back in the day used to be a thing of beauty! Stevie Thompson taking the alley-oop from Sherman Douglas, Derrick Coleman swatting shots, Billy Owens and his all-round game. You have to love the Orangemen. In Kingston, where I'm from, everybody cheers for the 'Cuse. Keith Smart broke a lot of hearts in small town Ontario.
