How Many Big Hits has Dak Taken?

I'm out of the Dallas market and so I've missed a couple of games. And I've not watched the NFL video that is available where you can see from all angles.

I'd like to ask those who have seen more to estimate: how many times has Dak really taken big hits?

Is it possible with him being young with sturdy physique...and our o-line playing as it is...that we might be OK moving forward with a lesser backup like Sanchez?

I do remember one big pop he took and I think it was when he was running or doing a read play. We think of him being a runner but he's near the middle of the pack in quarterback rushes (31 attempts). I think it's prudent to limit QB runs except crucial games and playoffs.

I don't want any opinions or comparisons about Romo. Refrain from it, bros!

Good question.
I remember a quarterback sneak and a run to the right where he seemed to have taken a hit to protect the blocker (Zeke?)
Most of the time, he slides or runs out of bounce - good decisions.

I don't recall any huge hits he's taken. He's just so good in the pocket and of course our o-line helps. There was one hit last week in the Steeler game where we were in the redone or close to it where Dak kinda just slinged one way over Dez's head and took a pretty good shot from maybe James Harrison, can't remember exactly.

I don't think he's taken to many really violent, crazy hits. He's taken his hits, of course, but nothing to crazy that I can recall.

In between his pocket pedicures and three-course meals, I don't recall any.

Actually, I can remember one. But he's mostly had all day, and he throws a lot of quick passes anyway.

Kudos to Zeke also with those blitz pickups.

Dak has lost 3 fumbles already, but I don't think any were from big hits. More like strip-sacks.
Philly put some heat on a few times, but I can't recall any big hits. Part of it's also his maneuverability.
He's working in a pretty nice QB vacuum right now and executing really well.

He took his fair share at Mississippi State. I haven't seen many this season, I do remember one time he got hit helmet-to-helmet against the Bengals (if I remember correctly) and I was praying he just got back up, and he did.

I think the biggest thing he's got working for him is that he's 23 years old.

He got walloped pretty good a few times

I think the one that stands out the most is vs the Eagles...from behind

Hits really don't mean anything to Dak, he played at Mississippi State where he ran a lot. You know what happens when you run a lot. But I read that the guy lives in the gym. His workouts are extremely tough. You can visually see it when you look at him. Ankles, knees, things like that, we shall see in the future, but I'm not worried about the guy getting hurt too much. He's also 23.

I remember him getting knocked off his feet in the preseason game against the Seahawks, only because I was surprised he got the ball to Butler (I think) despite the hit.

I'm sure the Jones family was thinking of a QB-friendly offense with a stout line. Dak is now the beneficiary, and he seems like a tough, smart kid which will help.

The next time we play the Eagles they will test us physically even more than in our first meeting. After our early drives they really dialed up the pressure. And Bennie Logan was out last time. Phi is 6th in the NFL in sacks... but 4th in hurries.

Minn will also be a team that could put some hits on our QB.

Cam Newton says the hits you take as a runner aren't nearly as tough as the ones you take when trying to throw the football. He would know.

Newton is much bigger and stronger than Dak and he's been hurt plenty.

The key is to not permit too many direct shots when in the act of throwing. Your shoulder, arm, ribs, even knees and ankles are all in more exposed positions than when in a running position.

I can't really think of any. He seems to take hits really intelligently in that he doesn't let himself get blasted. He also tends to throws the ball away if there's nobody open so he doesn't take many coverage sacks.

Dak takes hits in the pocket like all QBs do, but he's not taken many hits when running. He usually slides, or goes out of bounds.

I remember a hit to the head on a slide early in the San Francisco game. Looked like the rookie cb hit him on the head and Dak's head might have hit the turf hard.

I was pissed that no flag was called. I recall that he had a slow start after that but lead 2 td drives to tie score by halfime

I like my qbs to do damage with their arms not legs.
