its because of his rookie season. the run game and the oline was elite, and Dak was his average/above self was enough for a playoff victory. Romo should have gotten his job back and we would have gone further... but the Dakazoids would say but Romo would have gotten hurt again.. maybe... maybe not but with the Dak the end result would have been the same, no Super bowl.

Dak wayyyy out performed romo in their respective games vs GB in the playoffs.

Romo can’t even throw for 300 yards in a playoff game

Romo was made the highest paid player in NFL history after going 8-8 and missing the playoffs to a rookie RGIII. Dak will get his money.

I dunno, I mean Lamar doesn't have to throw that much, but when he does he throws some dimes. He has talent at the receiver position, has a talented defense, and has a good running back.
Then you take into account how much he runs... I think he is better than Dak.

The Ravens are tough, because you don't know if Lamar is going to run, if a receiver is getting that pass, if Ingram is coming... and where their defense is going to smash you. That is one really well rounded team.

Mahomes is just the best QB in football... Would take him over anyone period...

I actually thought Dak showed great promise just like last year against the Redskins and Giants. But he is still not worth 40 mil a season until he plays like this against the better teams. If he plays like this and drives this team to a SB or even an NFC championship game then Jerry probably pays him and I would be fine with that. But let the season play out and see how he does.

I don’t think Jackson is a better quarterback then Dak. Lamar is just the best runner in the game with the ball in his hands. Josh Allen and Kyler Murray are legit. I would vote for those two ahead of Dak but only because they are still on their rookie deals.

Smart Dallas fans 2 years ago - We need to extend him early so his annual CAP hits will be an extreme lot manageable $28ishM

Dumb Cowboys fans - he needs to prove himself one more year or he's replaceable

Glad I read a bit further to see your post. As I was going to reply. Watson is not better than Dak, not even close. Jackson, jury is still out, as the Ravens offense seems to rely on his legs as much as his passing. Kind of looks like a much better RG3 his rookie year.

Mahomes in a league of his own it seems at times. But he too has a surrounding cast. Let's not act like he does it all on his own, not every play anyway. Seems his receives are open 90% of the time. He runs around a lot to create time for his WR's to find an open hole. Not even Deion can hang with a WR for 6 seconds.
That is taking nothing away from him, just complimenting Reid and his team.

My last sentence was on purpose because I’m
a Dak fan but you wouldn’t know that because you are so angry at...EVERYTHING that may be against Dak. It’s a negative to the board. It’s your obsession. I’d say 99% of this board is pretty realistic on Dak: 1) got lucky in 4th round 2) great dude and leader 3) great running ability/makes something out of nothing. But you have to realize he’s not close to perfect and does some things that need work. You attacking anyone who breathes a bad word Is not helping. Just a heads up.

The Jones’ have botched his contract situation from the jump. If reports are true that Dak was willing to take a 5 year deal for LESS than what Watson just got, as long as they agreed not to franchise tag him, it’s even more evidence that the Jones’ are stupid.

I can’t stand Stephen Jones. Dude thinks he is so smart when he is only in his position because his daddy owns the team.

maybe the FO learned their lesson, look around the league not many high paid players making the SB AFTER they got paid....IE cap hit and building roster is much tougher after the QB get his deal..the FO being cautious isnt a mistake

i mena is this money coming out of all your pockets? curious you dont believe the FO knew after 2019 where the contracts would go if they didn't close the deal, then after this off season? they offered what they felt they would be comfortable with and knew full well it would cost more later..

you think they missed that and all these know it all Internet GMs knew? LMAO get real this is a league with cap, the FO offered fair and very big deals they wanted too and as the employer they control how they spend, not FANS...

I believe its win win and not mistake its mistake as Dak got 31mil and the FO gets a year to evaluate using MM as a new set of eyes.

they were not blindsided, they had the full picture on how the cap and the salary's escalating would go and MADE AN INFORMED DECISION ON HOW TO HANDLE THIS DEAL..

If Dak shows or proves whatever the FO thought they needed to see and it cost a few million more, they were fully are and prepared for this..

To say they messed this up is ignorant, its only messed up if they FEEL that way..if it was the plan all along to be cautious and let Mm and the new staff and Dak have another year before they invested that kind of cash in one player.

this isnt just Jerry and Stephen sitting in room making these decisions they have cap people CPAs CFOs, and many more experienced professionals going over all these contracts and how they should handle them..

thats about 99% more experience then umm ignorant Fan debates on a subject they only read about..you people crack me up debating these deals and how they should be handled . stay in your lane , im sure you know something about your job and career, keep it there because you dont know whats going on with these deals..

Easily Mahomes and Jackson. Jackson because his runs and buying time are natural, you don't have to see him think about the next step.

Watson and Jimmy G would probably yield better results here since they're better/more fluid passers.

Cam, Bridgewater, Carr I would say would do very similar to what Dak is doing here.

Murray seems to have progressed a lot compared to his bum rookie season and may soon take a spot above.

Burrow is definitely on pace to take a spot over Dak in the coming years.

I left off Wentz because "always injured", but I'd place him in the slightly above Dak tier due to his natural ability as a passer.

This puts Dak in the 5-8 range of QBs younger than 30. After 1-2 seasons there's a chance he goes to 7-10. I don't see Cam, Bridge, or Carr getting any better and that's how I feel about Dak at this point. 5th season, he is what he is.

I don't know if Allen would ever make that progress but we'll see.
His dual threat ability helps save his deep throws "accuracy"
Other than that, I think you're spot on. Burrows has only played 2 games, but I see why they were hyped on him. Still a huge TBD, but looks promising.
Dare I say Minshew is an underrated QB. No clue where his peak lies, or where he ranks currently, but he may be a good one, and a huge steal at that, if the Jags can stop Jagging around.

    Romo's extension was 6 years, 108mil, 55mil GTD. Flacco was 6 years 120 mil, 52mil GTD.

I like Dak. I think he's a good QB and deserves a contract....that being said, no ONE player is worth 20% of the cap.

I never said he's perfect. He's top 10 right now and moving on up. I only out those that habitually trash Dak.

Yes I agree John. Forgot to mention Minshew. Will be very interesting to see how he progresses. His performance so far for a 6th round pick is pretty crazy.

That’s cool! Good to hear. Just seems everyone gets into a tizzy(if this word is even still legit) these days on Dak. Have a good one!
