Romo's eyes were not downfield, they were watching the pass rush.

prime example. romos first fumble. felix was in the flat nobody near him. romos eyes? downfield. outcome stripped.

romo was intimidated not by the DL he was intimidated by the other quarterback across the field

Flozell going down was huge. Before he got hurt, he was absolutely beasting on Jared Allen.

He was sure handling Allen. Columbo on the other hand was destroyed by Edwards.

Allen is the kind of DE that will give Free fits because he is more power then Speed. Free can handle the speed guys because of his own quickness. Anyone thinking Free can get a lot stronger is a moron because as its been pointed out Free has HAD THREE YEARS IN A PROFESSIONAL WEIGHT PROGRAM. THere is no way he is going to get a lot stronger. You ask any weight coach how much progress someone can make after already BEING THREE YEARS INTO IT. You will find they ALL will say very little. Now what Free can do is learn technique and that can make up for the strenght lack. HOWEVER that does not happen over night. One good thing is that there are very few players like Allen in the NFL. Most of the DE's and OLBs rely more on speed and quickness then strength. So from that point of view Free should do well. Like Flo had to occasionally get help against the quick guys, Free will need help against the much more rare power guys.

Allen was credited with a single sack, and it was coming off of Witten as the blocker. Free did alright for the half he was in the game. When Flozell went down early, there then was nothing that Houck could then do about changing things at right tackle, where Colombo was abused the entire game. That is where things went South and remained. Colombo was nowhere near game conditioning coming back after half a season of recovery.

If Free adds some strength, we might have a very good player.

Allen simply bull rushed him most of the game...effectively, I might add.

And yep, the minute they saw how immobile Colombo was, they should have put the more athletic Free in the game.

Just another questionable decision by the coaching staff.

Yep, the personnel decisions leave you scratching your head.

Why wasnt Miles starting from day one?

Why is RW still starting when its clear Crayton and Miles give us the better chance to win?

What will it take for them to realize Felix Jones needs to be on the field during a playoff game?

Even the Scandrick / Jenkins splitting time is a head scratchier to me. Jenkins is clearly the better player.

Way too much appeasing of personalities and not enough willingness to make tough decisions that might rock the boat.

With the exception of a couple plays we did not use Allen's speed against him. That guy is so hungry to get after the QB he can be run on. We did it the first two drives and then Barber the drive killer came in. Why did we pull Felix when he showed he was able to turn the corner with his speed and get clear of their d-line? Is it a conditioning issue with Jones? If so I hope it is corrected by next year. It should be clear to all we are a much more effective offense with him in there.

Not sure, but as others have stated, he was in the backfield a lot.

I don't know which is more shocking, the fact that he was in the backfield so much or last week some people actually questioning whether the guy was a dominant passer rusher or not  .

Free blocked Allen better than Flo did.

You guys are overreacting and need to re-watch the game.

While Allen's bullrushes were disruptive he could not get by Free.

Free was playing under difficult circumstances as there was blood in the water so to speak. He couldn't get off the ball quick because of the noise, we were mostly passing and Allen was firing off the ball like a mad man.

I think it is quite unlikely we're going to find someone in the draft better where we are drafting. You usually need to get into the top ten to get a great LT prospect.

Free was not as much of a problem as some of our other O-linmen wandering around looking for someone to block. Numerous plays I saw O-line players standing around doing nothing, blocking no one as Romo was pummeled time and again. What the hell where they thinking? I remember 4 different plays where Davis was up out of his stance late, didn't bother to try and block anyone and then just wandered around. It looked like the oline was on downers or sleeping pills or something. It was pathetic. It was the the worst game by our oline in years. Our maulers can't maul anyone. They can't pass protect. They have trouble running effective screens. What do they do well?

Not sure what game some of you were watching, but Allen had 1 sack against a TE.

Free, for the circumstances, played a good game against one of the premier pass rushers in the league.

I think that bodes well for our prospects for next year at LT.

I was VERY disappointed in Columbo. I hope that had to do with his injury more than anything else. I just don't remember him ever having the problems against anyone like he did yesterday...

Allen had the one sack but he was pressuring Romo nearly every play cause he was pushing Free all over the field.

I like Doug, and what he showed at RT this year, but, no, he did not play well against Allen.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but Allen pushed Flo around too. I think Flo would have only gotten nastier as the game wore on if he hadn't gotten nicked, but Free looked about the same to be honest. Allen was handled best when he would get chipped by Witten while engaged with Free. Didn't happen much tho.
