I don't think it is huge. $5.4 million.

If we cut him outright, we'd save $4.5 million. If we made him a June 1 cut we'd save $2.5 million. If we restructure his contract and keep him we could potentially save around $4 million I think. xwalker or AdamJT13 would know better than I would.

Hardly anything. He only has a base salary of 2.5m for next. His contract isn't that big and has a few escalators that won't be reached because of the injury.

The only candidates for re-dos are Romo, TSmith and Witten. If Carr and Melton are kept they would have to be completely renegotiated, not just a restructure.

You're a bit off with Lee. If they cut him it would add 4.4m to his cap hit and go from 5.4m to 9.8m

If he was June 1st cut they would save 2.5m in 2015 but have a dead money hit of 6.8m in 2016.

His base salaries are very low for 2015 and 2016 so there is no reason to think of cutting him

Don't get me wrong I want Sean Lee here.. Him being here with McClain and our other linebackers late in the season could be huge!! That's if we can keep them all

My question is I know he was on an incentive based contract for playing time. How much did he lose this past season?

Those two guys playing beside each other would be a nightmare for me. Every week just hoping the get to suit up and are not placed on IR/retiring again. The best ability is availability.

About 1.4M if they restructure Lee.

They can free up about 12M by restructuring Romo and 8M by restructuring Tyron.

Hopefully you get them together on the field healthy 12 out of 16 games. LB corps would be filthy.

Just need to have some good depth there just in case.

I was going by His overall contract.. I just didn't know what he was making this year

He is only making 2.5m this year. The 5.4m is his cap number.

He lost 1.5m for 2015 because he didn't play 80% of the snaps in 2014

We save $1.4 million by restructuring Lee and $2.5 million if he is a June 1st cut. However, if we cut him prior to June 1st we lose $4.3 million on the salary cap. I would leave Lee's contact alone and welcome him back next season. Currently, we are $7.5 million under the Cap if the cap is $140 million. The big ways to create cap room would be to restructure Tony Romo and Tyron Smith and cut Henry Melton. Restructure Romo saves $12.8 million, restructure Tyron Smith saves $8.3 million, and cutting Henry Melton saves $8.5 million. Make those 3 moves and we are $37.0 million below the cap. Ask Brandon Carr to take a pay cut and we could potentially be $40.0 million under the cap.

I doubt they would restructure Lee deal. At this point he is counting his days on this roster.

I don't know about that. He has 2 years of low salaries left for 2015-16. After that he has a reasonable deal for a starting MLB at 7m per year with no guaranteed money

Thank goodness the coaching staff and FO like Lee a lot more than our fan base.

I forgot that he even was on the team this season. I can't imagine pushing his cap hit further down the road, just let it play out. If he gets injured again and misses 8 or more games, time to seriously consider cutting ties with him.

He has been a disappointment thus far :(

I love his play but seems not to be built physically for the NFL. Hopefully, he plays all of 2015 and fortifies the defense more.
