How much if any input will our HC have in hiring our new DC?

Not just that gone quickly as a matter of fact it was done on Monday they just didn't release it until Tuesday morning so when Black Monday came and he was gone right away we know that Brian has a little bit of influence who knows how much I believe the names being thrown out especially the outside the box guys are definitely Schottenheimer but in the end the final decision will always be made by an owner or GM so that's not new I realized the Cowboys the little hard to fathom but they did allow him to hire his entire offensive coaching staff and I believe Jerry sees the error in his ways and will allow him to have bigger input..

I hope you are right. That is what it looks like from my view as well.

Jerry's guy last offseason was Eberflus, and we all see how that turned out. Jerry allowed our HC to put a staff together, so will he step back this year, humble himself and allow our HC to pick the guy he wants??? Has our HC shown enough to Jerry to let Jerry feel that it can be handled without the brilliance of Jerry???

I think Jerry needs to take a long vacation until our HC picks a DC, and Jerry comes back with a fresh mind, and will be ready to allow that DC to shop for the groceries needed to get this defense to at least be respectable! Please give your thoughts

I think its pretty clear by our list of candidates Schottenheimer is having a large influence on the hiring.

Just compare the list this year with the recycled garbage we were interested in last off season.

Schottenheimer doesn't want to go through another season like last season, as a matter of fact I think he will insist on the hire he wants to the GM. Schottenheimer knows all about the bad hire that helped kill his first year as head coach, this man has pride in where he wants to go as an NFL head coach, will Ol Jerry humble his self and let Schottenheimer hire his man. This defensive coordinator hire will go a long way showing if this organization is headed in the right direction or much of the same.

I agree, very well said. Dallas must find a way to win in spite of Ol Jerry's sloth like slow moves and off the cuff bad hires and personnel decisions.
