How much is Philly paying Wentz and Foles

I noticed that Foles has 7 million guaranteed. I wondered how the amount Philly is spending on the qb position compares to what is owed to Dak and Romo.

I wouldn't copy anything the Eagles do.

They haven't won a playoff game since George Bush was president.
lol How about how much are the Patriots spending on the qb position?

You typically have to spend a lot of money on a starting QB. Even a middle of the pack guy can cost you well over 10 a season. When you can land a prominent starting quarterback at a fraction of the starting price, you need to take advantage of it.

Right now our backs are up to the wall with the cap unless we restructure some more contracts which we are trying not to do. If we get Romo off the books as soon as possible, we will have a 2 year window when we can finally be aggressive in upgrading this team before we have to hand Dak a huge 120 million dollar contract.

The Seahawks are the best example of this. They were very aggressive in upgrading their roster for that small window that they didn't have to pay a quarterback.

So, maybe he should be. The point is the money and comparing it to other teams.

Every team in the NFL wants to pay the least amount of money possible. If we can get to the point where we are paying under 5 million dollars for all pro caliber quarterback play, that gives us such a huge advantage over the Eagles, Falcons or Packers that are paying 20 million for something similar.

The Seahawks used that advantage to turn a good defense into an elite defense by adding both Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett in one offseason to put them over the top.

We shouldn't strive to spend as much or more than other teams per position, we should strive to spend less.

They cut Chase Daniels and his oversized contract. Foles comes a lot cheaper.

Foles was almost the starter for us last year. He will be a good backup for them.

7 million guaranteed My point is the qb position is the most important and most valuable. It doesn't make sense to me to weaken the team by cutting Tony Romo. Why take a strength away from the team? I just don't like the odds of a Romo cut working out for them. They should hold on to him and trade him later if they want to when teams become more desperate. They should trade or keep him. It makes no sense to cut him and end up with nothing and have an inferior backup qb.

Wentz is still on Rookie deal.
He counts 6.062 million against their CAP this year.
Over the CAP did not show anything on Foles.

Well, Romos salary is 14 mil this year woth a 24 mil cap hit....for starters
I still think that he is worth it. At least until they get a draft pick for him. There is no way that Houston can go with the qbs that they have.
