How much money do you carry with you generally

Today I met a guy who had a little over one thousand dollars on him. He said he always carries that much. I said you gotta be kidding me but my friend assured me that he was in fact doing it.

It is crazy.

I barely carry 40 bucks. The most I withdraw from the bank is 100. Most of the time I have less than 10 bucks. Today I need to head to a barber and I need to stop at the bank since I only have 8 bucks in my wallet. I am not poor or anything and thank God I am doing well financially.

Carrying cash is not my thing. I don't know why. How about you guys?

Note: I admit. Silly topic. But it is a slow day in the office and I am trying to kill some time. :)

about 10 bucks. I knew a guy who use to cash his pay check and would walk around with a couple of thousands until he picked up this girl at a bar and while he was sleeping she took everything.

I am pretty much the same as you. The only reason on earth you would need all that cash is if you are looking to spend it on something illegal.

He got a paycheck with "a couple of thousands" every week? What was he doing selling drugs?

Generally I don't carry diddly poo in cash unless I'm out of town somewhere.

...about a dollar everywhere I go.

It gets me parking in a pinch, I can get a grocery cart if I need it and other than that it just gets in the way when I am passing through airports.

My world is mostly plastic.

I usually have about 200 bones on me at all time..sometime 3 hundred. The reason for that is I go looking for discounts on expensive things and want to have the money right away. Oh, and I like to have a very good time doing so.

I keep all of it in my front left pocket and a 20 and a 5 in my wallet in case I get jacked for my wallet.

Hardly ever carry cash. I noticed that I have paper with me, I'm more likely to spend it very quickly.

In a given month, I would say 90% of the time I have less than 2 bucks on me. The other 10% of the time, maybe 20 bucks, tops.

$63 right now, including 2 each $2 bills. I always have a $2 bill in my wallet. I like to use the $2 bills. Some young people have never seen them before. I also heard someone used one at McDonalds and the young cashier thought it was fake and called the manager over.:)

where are you getting all of these $2 bills? I have a couple, but if I used them, that would be it. I don't see them around.

I keep several hundred on me but that's because my kids are always asking for money. If I leave the country then I find a way to keep a few thousand on me but not in my wallet. If I'm worried then I leave it in a vault at the hotel. But I never go anywhere scary with money and I even keep my IDs in my shoes etc then. They can have my Costco card yada.

I might have about $3 on me, but I usually try to have a hot $20 in my pocket, at all times. Sometimes I want to buy something, and there's a card minimum amount, and what I want doesnt cost as much as the minimum.

Example: The donut place down the street has a $4 minimum. All I want are the donut holes for a $1.65. I don't want to spend $2 extra dollars for an overpriced bottle of juice when I have juice at home.

My paycheck and everything is all direct deposit, and I use my bank card for everything. I have to remember to get cash every once in a while mostly for tips, but now they let you add that onto the card charge most of the time.

Most of the time I just carry a $20 in case of an emergency.

I sometimes buy guns, and ammunition and such when I am out of town, so I usually carry around 1500. I own a gun shop though, if it were only personal I doubt I would carry over a hundred bucks.

Thanks guys. You guys made me feel good about myself. I am not alone. :)

PS: I headed to the bank, withdrew 100 bucks. Paid 20 for haircut and now I have 88 bucks in my wallet. Felling rich. Filthy rich :D

Every month I'll get $60 bucks out of my account and gradually spend it on parking, quick purchases at convenience stores...etc. It usually makes it through the month and I'll have a couple bucks left over by the time I pull out another $60.
