Just making assumptions here but if Parcells was to leave and the new staff wanted to run a 4-3, how much tinkering would need to be done?

Obviously we would need to upgrade the FS position and find someone to challenge Bradie James but are we set at both OLB spots?

How would Spears, Canty and Hatcher fit in? Could spears move inside and would Hatcher and Canty fit as 4-3 DE's?

What else would we need to do?

not much at all. all dallas really needs is a LDE since ellis might not be ready or back to form.

LDE/ spears,canty,ferguson,ratliff/ ware

akin/james/carpenter

I think DE and DT are the tow most obvious. We really need someone who can rush the passer opposite Ware and someone to collapse it from the inside that can compliment Ferguson.

I get goose bumps thinking of Ware playing DE where he can actually do what he does best instead of covering Wr's on the hash.

I think we already have a talented defense. I still Watkins can be a capable starter.

It all comes down to scheme. We simply don't have the right framework.

You can build a house with granite countertops, marble flooring, but when you frame it with soda cans, it will still fall down.

Jerry Jones: "Depends on what kind of soda cans you use, actually."

That's the biggest problem.

To me, I dont even think we should touch the defense in the draft, I think we should finally give the Offense priority in the Draft.

I am convinced that if Zimmer is going to run this defense, we would need literally 11 Pro Bowlers at every position so talent would somehow makeup for the lack of creativity.

Our scheme is that bad.

Yeah I agree this offseason and draft needs to be about drafting offensive lineman and finding another pass rusher, in any capacity.

every year after the draft we hear about how guys didnt fit a round. Now we just need to take a tackle and or guard. mostly guards.

Finding another pass rusher to compliment ware, ellis, hatcher and ratliff would be key to me.
