There's two pretty talented players I can see sliding based on information in the last few weeks. Randy Gregory is a legitimate top 10 level talent. He's apparently a bit of an unrepentant weed head. When your head coach tells the team to stop testing you for weed cause you're going to fail that's a really bad sign. He's already failed one test in the NFL and I could see that causing him to slide. Is the risk worth the potential rewards if he slides all the way down to 27, which I acknowledge is a very unlikely scenario?

PJ Williams got a DUI recenetly. He's quite likely to be facing a 2 game suspension because of that and already being into a program because of it. Consensus seems to have him as a early 2nd type of pick. If he's there at 60 do you take him?

I think I lean to yes on both because they are a very good value at the pick. Between the two I'm more scared of Gregory as you can't stay clean for 6 weeks leading up to your biggest job interview you will ever have, but he's a level of talent we just couldn't get there otherwise.

I dont want any part of Gregory.this PJ williams is another story as he is a serial bad decision maker.I assume they asked him about this when he came to visit but i liked him before the arrest.

If Gregory interviewed well and showed some maturity in his interviews I'd take him in a heartbeat.

He looks like the second coming of Bruce Irvin out there.

I believe I heard that Gregory admitted he smoked and that he had failed multiple tests in interviews. If I'm remembering right, he acted like it was no big deal and he didn't have a problem, then proceeded to fail the combine test. Teams already knew about the multiple failed tests, but the dismissal of the issue by him and the combine test completely turns me away from him. I wouldn't touch him at all, regardless of the rd. I can deal with guys who put themselves in bad positions once, or make stupid decisions in the spur of the moment, but this guy knew. He had time to think about what he was doing for an extended period of time and still couldn't stop.

BTW I can't remember where I read/heard how he was in interviews. I think it was on path to the draft though.

As good a player as he has the potential to be, you can't trust Gregory, so you can't draft him. Williams I wouldn't have a character problem with.

Generally speaking, I'm willing to put up with a fair amount of distraction from a person's personal life if they work hard during the week and deliver in games. A stunt like Gregory's says that football is less important than things that will get you suspended. That's not going to change when he gets a lot of money and the stress level goes up all of a sudden.

The NFL cannot punish players for things they did before they were NFL employees. If they try they are likely to get sued and lose again.

bottom line is that you cannot fix stupid. Gregory is just plain dumb.
Williams- we already have our quota of DUI types.

You are forgetting about DGB. In all three cases it is about risk vs reward.

NFL players can't pretty much smoke weed 11 months out of the year. He'll fit right in.
