If the Bears beat the Lions this week, then the Lions Giants game may not even matter.
this week
cowboys beat giants
packers beat seahawks
following week
giants beat lions
since the cowboys play the late game vs the bucs, home field advantage would have already been won.
Does anyone think the Bears can actually beat the Lions?Right. Homefield can be clinched this Sunday.
Lol +1Sorry I can't have Giants beating anyone. Go Lions.
It may end up being irrelevant as far as seeding but it will be important to keep us sharp for the playoffs. The biggest mistake we could make is to coast through December causing us to look sloppy and lose our focus. We can't afford to make the same mistake the 07 team did and end up staggering into the playoffs.
Biggest issue in '07 wasn't that we coasted through December but injury to Owens. He wasn't effective against the Gints due to his injury. I don't want to rest the starters for 4 weeks but I also don't want to see Zeke or one of the OLinemen get injured in a meaningless game.
We became complacent after the big win over the Packers and started to relax. We struggled badly the following week vs a bad Detroit team, barley pulling out a win and looked terrible vs Philly. Romo suffered a finger injury in that game and his game slumped. Our offense went from averaging close to 32 points a game to around 14 points a game heading into the playoffs. As for TO he got hurt vs Carolina but was able to play against the Giants in playoffs and had a few catches. Romo's game was way off from where it had been most of the season and our defense couldn't pressure Eli all day or stop the Giants on 3rd down.
We were killing the Gints with the run in the first half. Big part due to Gints defense focusing on T.O.
There were articles about how the Gints players realized how bad T.O. was due to injury after the first half. The Gint's defense made adjustments based on this info and stopped us cold in the second half.
T.O's injury was the biggest reason we weren't as effective on offense in the Gints game.
Barber was making his first start and ended up burning out in the first half. He wasn't use to starting and receiving that many carries early and had nothing left in the second half. You could tell his legs were dead and he started going down easy. I'm not buying for one second that TO's injury was our undoing. Romo wasn't playing well entering the game, go look at his passer ratings the final few games of the season and compare them to the previous games...night and day!
Our defense had trouble stopping the Giants, Eli had all day to throw. We could never stop them on third down. Crayton's drop and hesitated route really hurt us. Wade was soft and didn't have the team ready for the playoffs. We were clearly slumping at the end of that season.
That's not wise.Yep. 4 weeks off for the starters including bye. Let's do it.
Big Ben and Kirk Cousins have better offense then Giants, Bucs and Lions. They only scored 30 at Pittsburgh and Kirk only 26. I'm not scared of those teams with our defenseI think losing can have a psychological effect on the younger players even if it doesn't effect playoff position. They might begin to doubt themselves. I think the worse possible scenario right now would be back to back losses to the Giants and Bucs. Nobody can claim it is impossible, we are talking about some pretty good teams and the Cowboys are a little beat up on defense, definite vulnerability there.
A strong arm QB, like the #1 overall picks they will be playing the next three consecutive games, could take advantage.
